I'm sorry to tell you all that due to the restraints of our economy, I am having to resort to alternative forms of advertisement to keep the site alive. Server costs are extremely high, which many of the server admins can vouch for. As such, I am giving new fields a try to increase revenue.
As we stood prior to these ads, we could not continue to run the site. Things have been extremely poor the last couple of months, and I'm beginning to pay out of my own pocket for the site. Which means it is no longer self-sustaining and a drain on my personal life.
We want these ads to work WITH the site, not own it. Please do your best to understand.
Tsunami Bomb - The Simple Truth
We could run away
Leave behind anything paper
Not knowing where we're going to stay
When there's no Mondays
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you

Do these new types of ads mean pop-ups?
Because I just got popped up. In a new window and everything.
Edit: Read last page. My ad was already addressed. Sorreh. (It was Arcade Candy or whatever)

Welp, hopeflly this'll get better, and we won't need those bloody annoying pop-up ads.
I can deal with the ads, so let's try to endure them until something can be done guys.

This is horrible.
Every

HAS A FCKING AD.
"This isn't working."
Would you rather we close the sites?

Guys,
TSR is in a rather serious financial situation right now
if we don't keep those ads,
the site will disappear
do you want that?
If Dazz had another way to pay for the site's immense fees, I'm sure he would do so.
If we actually got donations, that'd help us more.
But since most people who visit the site either are unable to or just don't, the only way is through a lot of ads.
Until the site gets back to a stable status,
Stop.
Complaining.
About.
The ads.
It does not help anything.
And if anyone out there is using AdBlock, please disable it.
Have a nice day.

Well, yeah, think about, have a pleasant Addless forum for a wee while, then it goes bust, or put up with extensive campaign for a wee while and see the forum stay...
think about it
Adds and forum
or neither
And any other site that would replace this one would have ads anyway, so get over it.
To be fair, I do see the reason for complaints. The ads annoy me too, believe me, it's not just you.
But, hopefully since these separate window ads generate more income than the regular ads, we won't have to keep them up for too very long. Just bear with us guys, we'll have to see if we can get out of this slump.

Isn't that a case of jacking at ad agencies if I let throw advertisement at my nose
and click the hell out on it although the advertised content is not interesting? :<

Wuh, let's hope. Those popups are so funny penetrant, they cover nearly the entire
site once called. =D
That would not be bad, if they could come once in some sessions instead of popping
up on every new sub site loaded. I don't think if >> I<< see it multiple times, it does
generate more money, or does? Would be too crazy.

Randomly clicking ads won't help as advertisers can then see that a million clicks came from the same IP within a fixed time period and those clicks will be thrown out. Clicking the occasional ad is fine, and even helpful, especially if it interests you, but it should really be left at that.
As for seeing multiple ads in the same session, yes, it does, to a certain extent. Each time an ad loads, regardless of whether or not it's clicked, it generates an impression so, while a single view generates next to nothing, continued viewing does add up.
Personally I leave TSR, TMR, TSoR and TTR's main pages open in separate tabs and refresh them all every now and then.

Welp, now I feel bad since I'm unable to donate due to otaku compulsions.
