Shiny Pokemon Encounters

I literally have not seen a single shiny outside of the Red Gyarados in any of my various Pokemon Adventures. This includes playthroughs in Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Heart Gold, and White.

It was about Diamond when I gave up, had Rhymey find my SID, and just coin flipped my way into a shiny Riolu.


Icing on the cake was when my brother caught a shiny Shinx during the first ten minutes of playing Pearl. He didn't even KNOW it was a Shiny.

The first Pokemon I saw in an old Gold version run was a shiny Rattata. No pokeballs obviously. I was so pissed.

Caught a shiny Machoke in Platinum though (which I still have) and a shiny Patrat in my Japanese White version (which I traded, because Watchog is useless).

The first shiny I ever saw was a shiny I ever saw was and Unown I in the Ruins of Alph on my original Silver version when I was just a laddie. Had no idea shinies existed at that time and was dumbstruck when I saw the little shiny gleam. Of course since it was an Unown, it's color wasn't much different and I didn't think anything of it. Killed it and moved on.

The only other shiny I've encountered was a Ponyta in Platinum on my way to class. Caught it obviously, but I've since deleted that save file.

Got Black from a friend today, another friend gave me a Zoura egg. So I hatched it and it was a shiny.

I got a Litwick months ago while EV training my heatmor in Sp. Att.

First shiny I got (besides red gyarados, of course) was a shiny slowpoke in Fire Red. I didn't know that much about shiny pokemon at the time, so I'm glad I decided to catch it. Other ones that I found (not including trades and GTS) are whismur in Ruby, wailmer in Sapphire, lumineon in Diamond, and most recently, a few months ago, durant (adamant nature surprisingly) in Black.

I think my first shiny was a shiny weedle or ratata (can't remember) on my silver. Aside from that, I just got a shiny Piloswine on Black 2 JUST when I was about to leave the Giant Chasm cave (literally one step away from the door). The only thing luckier than that was when my Pokémon got infected with Pokérus on Platinum on Route 216, unfortunately I didn't get to use the most of it (being nervous + taking a lot of time to notice), that Platinum file is also no more, sadly >:

Wait... is PokeRus rare? I've gotten it multiple times on pretty much every game I've played.

So yeah. But it spreads to other pokémon and can be spreaded by trades from other people and battles, I think, so it's easier to get it multiple times than just once.

The thing is that I don't trade until after I beat the pokemon league, and I got pokerus every time before I beat it (in other words, before I traded anything), so yeah, it was new cases every time, and a number of times I'd get it on a pokemon that went straight into the PC, and I'd later get another one (unless the sickness transfers in the PC, although I know that even if thats the case, I got it on two separate occasions on Platinum).

I found a pink Wooper in the safari zone once. I wonder if i still have it actually.
I saw a pink Ratata in Silver once but at the time i didn't know it was shiny, the colors arent exactly vibrant on the GBC and i always wondereded why it sparkled, but i killed it without a second thought.

I had a golden magicarp once too but, well, it's a fucking magicarp. Completely useless and if i evolve it just becomes shitty old red gyarados which everyone has.

I guess I should go buy a ticket or two. It probably helps that I catch every pokemon I find that I don't already have (or one that I do have if it has a move I like or something), so I tend to have a nice surplus of pokemon. Black 2 has been the only game so far that I haven't gotten Pokerus in as far as I know (I haven't bothered to check.)

Only game I've seen a shiny pokemon in was Diamond, and that was only with using/spamming key item PokeRadar. It's a Shiny Mime Jr, and I did catch it, but I dunno what to do with it. I still have it at least.

Dammit, I want a shiny Pidgeot. Actually you know what, I will try to hunt for a shiny Pidgey whenever they pop up on my Diamond save (Because they only appear on random/certain days on my game) and I will totally show you guys.

And I will be like 'yesss I told you guys I'd find one'

Although I'll probably give up pretty quickly.
