I have to say I agree, your sprites have this really nice feeling to them and I just love them.

These look really good! I feel the animations work for the character.

As someone who likes to pretend they know what they're doing, I've got a little advice.

That whole stretchy business is done kinda poorly

The fact that you added bounce like that shows you know what you're doing, but the way you did it only really works well in programs like Flash.

I'd suggest going in a fixing up all the lines that are blurred and broken because of it.

Another thing:

In animations like this, where the motions are realy exaggerated, you need a lot more frames of follow-through

Here, his arms should drag down a little more, maybe down 1 pixel for 1 frame, because how it is now its like they just hit something.

But seriously though, other than that, I've got nothing but good things to say. The Art style is great and I want to see any more characters if you have any.
Also, Jeph with a Ph? Never seen it spelled that way. Neat.

Yeah I've been meaning to get around to the stretchy poses for a while, but it keeps slipping my mind. Thanks for pointing it out, though! Big Grin

For the frames of follow through, do you mean there should be more frames for when his arm flies back, so he kind of settles in to the pose more naturally?

Even motion blurs would help. When he aims the gun and recoils both need either more frames, or a blur effect. Having a little charge on the gun before he fires could be fun too.

Nah I think he meant when he goes back into idle pose from having fired the gun. There is no transitioning.

Gimme 5 minutes, I'll whip something up for you.

That's about 10 frames, you could probably pull it off in less, but take a look.

It kinda goes like this:

Initial Pose > Initial Reaction, recoils slightly in the shoulders > Second reaction, Arm flies back, apply motion blur as necessary > Settling frames, Slow down the arm, showing resistance > Return to starting pose > Settling, Give him a little bounce as he reaches rest position.

... I'm kinda hamming it up here, do I at least sound like I know what I'm doing? Tongue

This also might help you with animation (even if you already seem to know the basics).

I really like this, and additionally, I like the fact that you're taking what people are saying on board...

These are great; and I can imagine that you're making them for some sort of RPG Maker game?

It's an interesting style, I can't wait to see more of it!
