also I think the shoulders are too undefined
Remember wario is taller than mario and I think he's taller than luigi.
His legs also rest more underneath his girth
Love Gotta Have it:
123
they actually look a liiittle bit shorter in the new version.
EDIT: I mean in Ebil's version, heh.

Most of the time with wario, it seems his legs are short(well, I went a bit too short this time) and spread far apart.
I do agree I should work on the shoulders, but I do plan on keeping the sleeves on him for the rest of his arms(and I guess I should reduce the pupils a pixel).
I guess I'll apply a few of the changes from the new one to the old one(avatar) and work from there
got a bit of progress with the sprite
I fixed a few minor details, worked with proportion a bit(still working on it) and reduced the amount of colors in the palette
took a small break from learning how to actually make the game and made another attempt to fix the sprite

tried to make a spearman, but I made him too small and it looks rather odd
I don't think my first attempt went all that bad, I'll try to be done with it by the end of the day
made the basic stand pose for a spearman
still needs a ton of work...
there, basic stand
got some walking animations now
I'll try to get the rest of the spearman's overworld next

I decided recently to make another attempt at making the bros., but this time in a little bit different style this time.
added a mario and luigi, changed the m&l3 style ever so slightly(didn't turn out so well and looks like a bad edit...) and tried to get the other bros to go the same way.
It's still very much a WiP and I ran out of time for today and only got part of waluigi done...

Something about Waluigi's face doesn't seem right. Wario's is better but his body still needs some work. Also he doesn't wear long sleeves.
The proportions are off. Wario needs to be fatter while Waluigi's head is too wide for his body.

That's pretty cool
The animations are nice, but the only problems I see is that the arms and legs of the one side move at the same time and there are also a few jagged areas scattered around the sprites.
Thanks, I'll try to keep some of these things in mind when I go to make my own walking animations after I finish the newer wario's design

If you're still talkin' about fixing up Wario I can point out a few things.
First is color! Those colors look dirty, which is bad considering how bright and colorful the M&LIII style is. You should try out things like
Finding a more saturated or "truer" yellow, and have the darker values hue more into red instead of straight to black.
Only sparingly use shades. Go over it again and if you have to ask yourself if more shading should go somewhere the answer is no.
Of course you can always use colors from the original palette. I would even suggest using Bower's yellow, and the Shroobs' purple.
Next is the overall design. From my experience M&L is just big enough to put a lot of character into the face. With Wario, he has a pretty big and wide face. So you should start of with a bit of a resize because right now he looks a little squished. As you can eye-ball it here Wario is a little over two Marios in legnth!
This is all I could think of for now. I distracted myself from doing homework.

I'll try to make my own palette for the sprites with hues instead of shades, but I tried working with the game palettes before and I found the results didn't look so good(hard to find a match for wario and waluigi, even the shroob's purple didn't look good on them).

I have been tryingto keep wario under 32 pixels in width, so there isn't a whole lot I can do for that. I'll see what I can do and I guess I could try it both ways to see which I would (32 pixels compared to two marios(44 pixels)).

In many of the mario side games today, his sleeves still remain...

I notice random white dots on top of his shoes when each of his feet go back the farthest, looks kind of weird.
