Xbox One
I don't like the Xbox, but I'm glad Microsoft reviewed their design choices and thought about the feedback. It means that we, the consumer, do have the power to change things, we just rarely do it. This XBONE boycott was the closest to reality that the game industry has ever seen.

I don't think people should be fully satisfied, but I do think Microsoft should at least see the good side of doing this move

It's kind of like being in an abusive relationship where the abuser smacks you until you bleed and then bandages you up afterwards.

They fixed it so it's okay, right?

Not like that at all, considering if I remember correctly Sony filed patents for something about preventing used games as well, it's going to happen eventually, and Microsoft were only the first to try and officially implement it.

So somebody threatens to hit you, you leave them, and then the next person actually does it?

So I guess gaming should just die and we should boycott gaming

what.

What kind of extreme example is this, holy shit.

First of all XONE hasn't even been RELEASED yet.

Second, shit happens. Bad designs happens sometimes, they learned better, so what's wrong? Nintendo and Sony did some shitty things too and we've let them go. If Microsoft plans to return that policy full on after they've estabilished sales, well then, they'll lose all their future customers.

I think the point he's making is that "the damage has already been done".

I know, but I think it's good that they changed it instead of pressing forward with that horrible DRM. It's a small victory for everyone, I don't see the issue, as much as I would like to see the Xbox flop.

You gotta give them credit for trying at least. It means that they actually care a little, that they are actually listening, it's amazing really...Also, Sony was considering a similar used game policy for the PS4, if I recall correctly. Microsoft's backlash on revealing it first HELPED the PS4. That's also intriguing, maybe Sony was just trying to play it safe, and instead of damage control like this, they were more opportunistic. Seriously, the amount of excitement the PS4 got for...being like the consoles before it (in regards to used games, online-ness, and so on) was actually kind of embarrassing. It was nice knowing they weren't going for that kind of thing, but it still felt...opportunistic of Sony.

But you know, sure, Microsoft "dug their own grave", but I honestly feel like they were trying to do something new. I mean, something that gamers cared about. The "connection", having your digital game library...it has a lot of good points. Personally, and this is a sentiment shared with others, but that's 1 step forward and like 10 steps back, so it's not worth it. So, it was an experiment, and it failed. And they are trying to repair their reputation. No use kicking them when their down. (but oh gee, of course the thought of used games and even your own physical discs becoming obsolete, is absolutely dreadful, and having to go online everyday? lol)

Still, I don't really care about X-box One anyway! Or...well, the PS4 for that matter.
Nintendo for the win! Ha ha ha!

All I want Microsoft to do now is make the Kinect optional and sell it separately, lowering the overall price.

I find it interesting how people are comparing a fucking video game console to being in a relationship... It kind of tells me something about the way you consider gaming, and it isn't good. Seriously.

A console you've not even tried yet made some changes and you're comparing it to getting the shit kicked out of you by somebody you love? Have a fucking heart. This is actually disgusting, and I normally am all for analogies.
Tsunami Bomb - The Simple Truth
We could run away
Leave behind anything paper
Not knowing where we're going to stay
When there's no Mondays

You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you
Before this turns into an emotional battle over a comparison, let's change the subject.

Someone mentioned that because of the 180 degree change, people are probably not going to be able to do the Family Member game sharing thing. If the DRM thing is going to be discontinued anyway, though, couldn't you just give them your CD to play off of? Unless I'm missing something here.

Rered the interview that asked whether Titanfall will hit the PS4 or not, and even if it did, it'd have to be at least a year after it hits the Xbox One, and I really don't feel like waiting until 2015 to play the game.. Aghhhh why does one game have to make me think this hard?

Weigh the options...waste $500+tax/shipping/etc. on a console for a single game, or spend $450+tax/shipping/etc. on a console you have a more open library for. Patience is a virtue.

It wouldn't be for a single game, there's still all the multi console games...
I'm the kind of guy where a single game can decide which way I lean, and there's still Halo as well.
In the, $50-100 more really doesn't bother me, as its really not that much
