Odd things you noticed in games

How many times has this happened to you? You're playing your favorite game and you stubble upon something... Unusual to say the least. Whether it be an odd plothole, strange glitch, or even an innuendo, just share it in this topic right here.


Anyway, when I was playing through Paper Mario again, two things struck me as rather odd. The first relate to the Star Spirit cards. I know the Star Spirits are trapped in card to prevent them from using their powers and moving, so it is easy for Bowser's goons to guard them; however, when Skolar escaped from Tubba Blubba, it implied that he was able to move freely in his card form. Since none of the other Star Spirits were kept in cages, it makes me wonder why the other ones did not follow Skolar's lead. Did the idea not occur to them, or does Tubba Blubba have the worst security for keeping Star Spirits in check? Considering that it takes a cage to keep Skolar for completing his escape to Star Haven, the other bosses should have similar means of keeping the Star Spirits from doing the same thing.

As for the other odd thing I noticed in this game, you remember that Big Lantern Ghost, right? Sure, it's odd enough that he holds a lantern when he clearly hates light, but of all the things he could use to power the lantern, why did he choose a baby? He could have used a flashlight or a similar creature to Watt, but he had to go with the baby Lil' Sparky instead. Sure, it's not too much of a big deal and Watt is arguably a useful partner, but why a baby Lil' Sparky of all things? Couldn't he bother to use an older Lil' Sparky instead? Considering how creepy this guy looks and sounds (his laughter is a dead giveaway to his unsettling nature), I have the right to believe that he kidnapped Watt for other reasons... *Cough*Pedophile*Cough*

it's ok to suck, sucking is not bad, just try and aim to always do your best!

Countless times, I always get stubble when playing games.

Seriously though, I can't think of much. One thing I've inevitably noticed in Puggsy (considering the countless times I've played it), is that he apparently leaves his ship because it crash landed and it's broken, right? Well, in the Mega Drive version at least, the raccoons steal it, and he gets it back, and then he leaves the island. There's no sign at all that they fixed it, and if they did then why hang it up on chains (as seen behind the final boss), rather than use it for something?

I remember in Ocarina of Time you lose your Master Sword in the final battle because Gannon knocks it out of your hand...
But when you put away your shield, guess what shows up in your sword sheath.

I was thinking of bumping up that topic to talk about the big plot hole in Paper Mario and why the Big Lantern Ghost would talk about Watt; however, since that topic actually discusses nifty tricks and Easter Eggs in video games, I thought creating a new topic would be the best course of action.

I still can't believe that DeDeDe lost against three unarmed Yarn-Waddle Dees. I mean, even in the actual game they're totally harmless.

Well! The topic bump came out of nowhere! That's OK, though, because I was dying to share some more odd things I found in games! Thank you, Davy!

Anyway, I know this is true in a lot of video games, but how much time does K. Rool possibly need to get his Blast-o-matic machine fully operational. He ordered his goons to set everything up for the most lengthy collectathon in video game history, yet he still doesn't have time to fully test the weapon by the time the Kongs enter Hideout Helm. You can take as long as you like, but you'll always see that same cutscene where the Kritters beg their king to give them more time.
