Even though Miyamoto is an excellent game designer, his biggest flaw is overlooking story and character development. All of his games play extremely well, but it takes the rest of his staff to make all of his characters act less like pieces of plywood.
The Mario RPGs (even the "flat" Paper Mario game) are a chief example of how people as equally as talented as Miyamoto take his already existing characters and turn them into fleshed out characters.

it's ok to suck, sucking is not bad, just try and aim to always do your best!

It's not something they can easily make me accept without exposition. I'll need to see why it's so important that she temporarily surrender her status as the Luma mother figure before I can accept that she's adventuring again.
Good god
Why can't something in a game just be for fun anymore

I really wish Miyamoto would exit his little comfort shell sometimes.

Plot holes aren't fun for me.
Of course, I'm a writer.

So that's a pretty poor excuse

Most of the platforming and plot-driven titles don't outright contradict their predecessors. Karts/Parties/Sports don't bother me with what they do, because they're clearly a distinct class of game.
Zero-Kirby: I think you misinterpreted a situational one-liner as an argument. Not that I actually need justification to be discontent with something.
Are you really going to be pissed off that I don't think Rosalina would be adventuring with the others? Because that's really fucking petty.

I'm not pissed off, I just think it's, as you say, really fucking petty to call out a Mario game for supposed plotholes when it's obvious Rosalina's in the game as a hidden character just for the fun of it.

"Dear game, please be consistent."
That is all I really said.
I don't know why it's such a big deal that I want it to make a little sense within its own context.

Rosalina's left her station to join kart racers, I'm sure this is fine too.

Well, the Luma's seem to be smart enough to stay alive without Rosalina being by their side every minute (I mean, they survived before she showed up), plus, Rosalina is friends with Mario & co so it makes sense that she'd want to drop in to assist them. Also, she knows first hand that Bowser's plan can not only threaten the world, but the entire universe, which she seems keen on protecting. So yeah, he lending a hand makes sense and doesn't seem to cause any conflicts in terms of continuity or whatever.

Not to mention the Lumas doing just fine running a spaceship of Mario's face without Rosalina's help. I'd understand your complaint if the Mario series has ever given any fucks about its story making any sense or having any sort of real continuity beyond vaguely connecting games by way of recurring characters, but it's... never done that.
Like, seriously, the motivations of a hidden unlockable character is probably the most minor offense they've ever made. Like, uh, where are the Koopalings from? Is Bowser Jr. related to them? How come the kings from Super Mario Bros. 3 never returned? Is the Mushroom Kingdom encompassing of the entire universe or is it small despite it constantly being in a different form in every game? It's all stuff that's completely periphery to the actual gameplay (which is what the Mario platformers have always been about first and foremost), so I don't see why they'd need justification for this, even if she was actually normally part of the storyline.
But just to reiterate, she's an unlockable hidden character. She... doesn't need an explanation or motivation. Kriven, I can understand it possibly being a want of yours that the story mattered more in the main Mario series, that's a valid thing to say, but to complain about this one instance is kind of silly, to be entirely frank.
ANYWAY, I am so excited for this game. I want it. I don't have a Wii U. But I want it.

I'm sorry, I'll never make an observation again.
There are some legit points in your arguments which I will conceide, but the amount of sass this has generated is really not awesome.
Like, is it really necessarry to call "Good God", bold/italicize things that don't need to be, etc.
It's not like I was even making a huge deal out of it to begin with. Just fucking.
Shit, stop with the sass.
Tellis - I talk about Mushroom continuity all the time, but Rosalina is what's relevant here. Honestly, I'd have been fine taking it and making my own hypothesis later on.
