GameCube controller is so comfortable and convenient for pressing multiple buttons either extremely fast, or simultaneously. To do C-stick attacks I literally just shift my right hand down a teeny bit rather than reaching over the main buttons like the Pro-Controller would probably do it.
EDIT: Have we even discussed the raw Nintendium that goes into a GameCube controller?

Mostly technical tidbits over the past two weeks. I imagine the week before E3 will be mostly simpler stuff, seeing as Ike was just announced and E3 is the time they'd probably try to announce someone else. Also, just noticing we're up to 30 characters now. I have a feeling that whatever they announce at E3 is probably going to be it for the starters, unless there's like 3 more months of waiting before it is released. The rest after that will probably be secret, or maybe what we see is what we get and there won't be many more. (I doubt that though, I'm just basing it on Nintendo's recent business model of announcing their secret characters before the game is even released. Smash seems like the kind of game to do the opposite though).

I more or less tried to predict Wario in my last post and when I woke up this morning I was brokenhearted that he wasn't confirmed

I doubt we'd get another character reveal so soon after Ike. If we got another reveal before E3 I'd be surprised too, but then again it's been full of surprises all year, so... who knows.

New stage revealed today. Yet another Mario one, what a surprise. God forbid they show us anything from Kirby, Donkey Kong, Starfox, or any of the other franchises that have been thusfar ignored.

Anyways the stage itself looks pretty decent. I like it. I'm guessing there are eight total "forms" for the stage; one for each world from NSMBU. That's just a guess seeing as the two currently revealed forms seem to be for starting world and the water world. Then again, eight would be a lot of content, so maybe they only picked a handful of the more noteworthy worlds to represent. If that is the case, I hope at least one is for the lava world so Bowser can finally get some semblance of a Koopa Castle stage that he so richly deserves.
well, it looks better than the 3d land stage on the 3ds version

I really like NSMBU, so I'm glad it's getting an awesome stage. I always found it's visual style to be a lot more clean when compared to the other New Super Mario Bros games. That Porcupuffer could be an awesome makeshift platform ghost.
(but yeah like Jer said, where's the stages from the neglected franchises? I kind of want my DK stage now!)

I'm getting a little bothered by all the moving and transitioning these stages do... can't we have a stage that sits still and represents the whole of one significant location instead of cluttered bits and pieces of lots of areas that don't depict any with real depth?

That's what Final Destination mode is for

I didn't say without hazards or personality, just without moving. And a lot of the moving is pointless... Smashville, for example. Does the new one really have to drive into the city? Is the city going to change the gameplay at all, the platform array, can we climb on the shops and dance through the crowds? It really doesn't look like it.
I'd rather they put more budget into making the levels fun and well-designed than into MUGEN Bros.

I agree on that point. All these stages are full of F-Zero moving and transitioning now rather than fleshing out and balancing a single, consistent, and largely representational environment to it's full potential.

Yeah, I don't like the moving stages either.

Moving stages are an interesting gimmick if execute correctly, but I would rather battle on a stationary stage where I could think better without having to constantly move around to cater to a fickle backdrop.
