I'm having mixed feelings on the Sonic Boom Wii U game.
I like how they've kept the same kind of platforming that Unleashed, Colors, and Generations had, but I don't like how they brought back the combat from Unleashed's Werehog levels. :/
Oh well, I still have high hopes for the TV show and the 3DS game though. (the reason I say the 3DS game is because it's going to be a different game from the Wii U version, and is going to be made by the same people who did Sly Cooper 4)

I don't get what's exactly so bad about this game. I mean, for starters it looks decent enough, both from visuals and gameplay, the VAs are likable, the soundtrack may be not that great, but whatever, it isn't terribly bad overall. And besides, even if it does end up fucking up hardcore, it's not canon, so it won't really matter.

it wont matter because it's a sonic game and we're used to that

It looks alright, although I hope this is not what the final result is supposed to look like because the animations are a bit "floppy" in places. And when Knux is climbing the wall he looks kind of like he's just floating over it.
Watching them swing the enemies around on those leashes over their heads makes me kind of feel like this game would work well utilizing the Wiimote & nunchuck. Doubt that's going to be an option though.

oh my god that looks AWFUL
it's like they tried to rip off the lego games but added in horrendous voice acting and shitty platforming as well

To be fair, most of the lego games aren't known for their voice acting.

its everything i dont want in a sonic game
what was wrong with running right really fast until you spun a sign and it went doo looo loo loo loooo
not really gonna argue sonic with anyone, i dont really care enough to
guess im stuck in sonic 2 nostalgia mode, then again it was the only sonic game i actually enjoyed so my opinion is probably moot

because they can't even do that right (see: sonic 4)
(see also: sonic generations, where the classic levels were fun but half-automated because they couldn't figure out how to make sonic neatly run up a slope without making the game do it for him)

It's like they forgot how to program momentum.

I honestly don't understand why generations and colors get the praise they do because even though they were better than the rest of the post-adventure-2 games they were still just mediocre at best
like it's gotten so bad to where we actually praise sonic games just for not being complete shit

well, that's just, like, your opinion, man
i agree that colors and generations aren't the best games since sliced bread, but they provided enjoyable experiences for me. they have some obvious faults; colors has too much repeated material and most of the game is in 2d with awkward platforming, and generations is too short and easy despite being padded out with recycled content like colors was. still, i think they're fun games--better than mediocre.
and you can't say no to those soundtracks.
EDIT: seriously if you don't like these songs i don't understand you

That's just how it is for Sonic fans these days. After being handed one awful game after another (Heroes, Shadow, Sonic 06, The one where Sonic has a goddamn sword, not to mention those terrible spin-offs like Riders) they've been conditioned to accept average and even sub-standard games without making a fuss (the sales are still there, for the most part). I think this strategy works particularly well with Sonic loyalists because they're typically more nostalgic and naive than the average gamer, and Sega knows it.

Whatever. This game is not really a part of the same Sonic series anyway. As for the other games, Sonic Team will hopefully improve on what they did in Sonic Lost World. To me that game was a step in the right direction for Sonic. They just need to fine tune it.
Anyone else try Sonic Lost World?

I've heard that Lost World is one of the worst Sonic games to date.
I honestly haven't heard a single good impression of the game at all.
also, this
Not to mention that I've read that the Zelda Zone DLC is nothing but a rushed, obvious cash grab.
