From a translation done in Spanish, it said that it keeps the typing, but gains the ability tough claws. All megas get +100 to their total stats, but we won't know the specifics until later.

I'm wondering what this all means. Are they just going to retcon what they rolled with all this time through Black and White 2, where Juan is the new 8th Gym, Wallace is Champ, and Steven's on Meteor Falls? If they follow the RS lineup, Juan simply wouldn't exist in this game. That won't do at all.

Nothing against Juan, but Wallace replacing Stephen as champion was really lame. Also, Mega Metagross is boss.

I'm a little worried over Megagross right now. I'm afraid it's either going to wind up being either way overpowered, or not powerful enough to where you'd be better off running a Life Orb instead. I guess Tough Claws might help with the latter, but I'm afraid that it'll wind up like Mega Scizor

I am really hoping that there will be legitimate gym and elite 4 rematches in this game. And each one would have a mega of their best mon. That would be radular.

Something I thought up - Mega Rapidash. It becomes a pegasus, changing type to Fire/Flying and gains Aerilate along with Speed and Attack boosts. Sounds overpowered until you consider stealth rock.

Weren't there rematches in Emerald? Granted it was completely random with the PokeNav (here's to hoping it's not here), but I do remember their teams getting upgrades with each rematch.

I disagree. Aerilate boosts the power of all of Rapidash' normal moves by 30%. It also changes them to flying type moves, which is another 50% boost in power due to STAB. This turns Rapidash' Quick Attack into a flying version of Scizors' Bullet Punch. A Fire/Fairy typing sounds cool, but the lack of good physical fairy attacks isn't worth it. Not only that, but right now the Fairy type is better built for defense, which goes against what Rapidash already has going for it. It has a base attack of 100 and a base speed of 105, I'd imagine that's where the bulk of the extra mega stats would go.
