I did like DBZ a fair bit, but Dragon Ball was much more adventurous, and it just felt so much more... IDK, "thought out"? DBZ didn't feel as well thought out to me, at least after the Saiyan Saga (no more so than the Buu Arc) and it seemed to fall into certain patterns too often and similarly. Also, I've been watching the new JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series recently (more specifically, I'm all caught up so far on Stardust Crusaders). Holy tits this series is amazing. Stardust Crusaders in particular since it's kicking the 2000 series' ass through its hat (and I guess the 1993 series as well at this point). Why did the initial adaptation of the second half of Stardust Crusaders come way before the first half, anyway?
The past month I watched: Future Diary, Corpse Princess (both seasons/series), and Highschool of the Dead. I liked all of them, but Future Diary is by far my favorite among them and I wish I could find more like it. Kind of between anime right now, don't know what to watch next.

That was really .... disappointing I'll be honest I liked the creative choices between each episode and how they were conveyed differently, but 8 is a bit much. I've yet to see the movie so I'm waiting until I pass any further judgement. I'll be honest I liked season 1 better but 2 did have some good moments. I really liked the movie filming shenanigans and actually afterwards went back to watch the Mikuru movie for the first time (which I was told by a friend to skip until I finished season 2) It's so great oh gosh probably one of my favorite parts Anyway, I'm a little disappointed by season 2's ending, but I'm hoping a lot of questions will be answered in the movie! Seriously though, story aside (which I still like), I haven't seen many anime that have had both a fantastic soundtrack and great animation. It's really beautiful to watch--even the shots were carefully and artistically done. What they were able to do with the 'camera footage' was so neat (and in the movie) because in some sort of fourth wall breaking way, it seemed to make the characters, as ridiculous as they are, more realistic. and it's a dialogue heavy show, but I enjoyed every bit. Kyon's monologues are a lot of fun, and the actor as a great voice for the character--he still has that normal kid voice and honestly I appreciate any male voice that doesn't sound like Roy Mustang. I don't know, I was really impressed by the technical and artistic directions : D Looking forward to the movie! Thanked by: Vipershark

Oh, were you watching the dub?
I haven't heard much of the dub (outside of listening to Wendee Lee as Haruhi) so I guess it's good that it's not terrible. I dunno if you know, but Haruhi is actually an entire light novel series of which the show is of course based on so I'm really hoping they make more... ...but after all of the controversy surrounding Aya Hirano, I doubt that will happen. Which is really unfortunate because Haruhi is a really special show It captures a feeling that no other show does for me

No, I'm talking about the Japanese dub. I saw it with subs.
I can't do dubs--I've tried, even sometimes hearing the english voices before the Japanese ones, but for whatever reason I need to hear it in the original audio. Plus it's good practice C: I actually went in with no prior knowledge--a friend recommended it to me. Controversy? Thanked by: Vipershark

Basically she got caught having sex with some guy and her company (and fans) flipped out and she more or less got pushed out of her company and blacklisted as a seiyuu
So I guess even if there is somehow another season she likely won't be in it :/ Thanked by: Baegal
Oh yeah, guess I should mention that I finished Fullmetal Alchemist some time ago and I'm about half way through Brotherhood. I'm enjoying it more than FMA, currently.

Good thing you saw the original first.
I haven't seen the original, but I absolutely loved brotherhood and haven't been able to see the first one. I know the stories are completely different, but Brotherhood spoiled me--it's really really great

Honestly, i can't enjoy anime with subtitles compared to dubs. To me it doesn't feel the same as watching a live action foreign series/movie.
Even with a foreign CGI series/movie, i'd prefer it dubbed. Most anime/manga I've collected have been out of curiosity, hype, and watching it on TV. having every DVD of K-on!, Gurren Lagann, Lucky Star, Haruhi Suzumiya, and Afro Samurai. With a few yet to watch after getting them, including Ikki Tousen, Panty & Stocking, and Eden of the East. Plus some OVAs including the Street Fighter II and IV movies, Halo Legends, Darkstalkers mini-series and the first few Marvel Anime. Still waiting for Space Dandy and Kill La Kill to come on DVD here in Australia. Too lazy to watch them online.

I honestly don't understand what people like about Brotherhood. There's too many characters, none of them are developed very well and it was hard for me to care about anything that was happening. It's "cool" sometimes I guess? That's about it though...
