You post that but not Mega Pidgeot and Mega Beedrill?

See, those were the Pokemon I thought needed Mega-Evos the most. Not Mewtwo. Giving weaker Pokemon an edge and chance against stronger ones.

ORAS Demo codes are out if anybody has signed up for the Pokemon newsletter.

If you haven't you can still get the code via buying Pokemon TCG and Puzzle league for the gameboy on the eShop in the following weeks.

I can't help but feel like this is the laziest of their remakes from all the information I've been hearing. FireRed/LeafGreen not only brought Gen 1 up to the current standards and fixed a lot of the issues with the original games, but also added a lot of new content, extended the story, greatly improved the visuals, improved the Gen 3 engine further and were still compatible with the Gen 3 games. HeartGold/SoulSilver did much of the same, but adding a heck of a lot of new content, improved the mechanics and interface of Gen 4 vastly, and were still compatible with Gen IV games. Now I'm being told the engine is a carbon copy of X and Y's with no improvements, no visual upgrades and no compatibility? What, is it too much work to actually give a damn this time around?

i think you should wait until you actually purchase the game before saying that this would be the laziest remake they made.

Well, let's just say they've got a lot of convincing to do from the information given from the demo. The lack of compatibility with games in the same generation, and making no improvements on the engine doesn't help their case. 3D can't be used, and lags in the same situations as X and Y as well.

I hope they patch that compatibility thing. If not, it'd likely be an ongoing thing for the series onward, as it forces the player to get the new game to stay relevant online and in tournaments.

They've said flat out that they have no intention of patching X/Y to include new content (specifically the new Megas since they're the one thing that matters in connectivity terms), sooo yeah, it's not happening. Which sucks and yeah, I fear it'll become a trend too.

This has happened in past generations too but like, those were on consoles where you couldn't patch this kind of stuff. Now there's simply no excuse. I'm really upset with Game Freak nowadays in how they're handling Gen VI so far...

Wait, so uhm

How do I trade my team or Diancie to the new game? I don't think we'll have access to Diancie forever, so this seems kind of weird...

And like how do we get new, "currently unknown" distribution Pokémon between versions? :/

You can trade between XY and ORAS. The only restrictions are new moves like Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza's and holding new items, like new Mega Stones. Everything else can be traded back and forth. I wonder if Latias/Latios' Mega Stone can be traded, seeing as their Megas exist in X and Y.

You are excite bike?

No really, Gen 3 had the best bikes. I hope they include them in the remake. Mach Bike, Acro Bike. Except maybe condense them into one with a gear switch, so you don't have to keep going back to the bike shop. 1st Gear is slower, but lets you Acro, while 2nd Gear is faster, and lets you Mach. Would be perfect.

ok, so i got to try out the demo from a certain someone, and i have to say, they improved on a lot of tiny things over x&y; which isnt bad, mind you.

first off, everything in the overworld was vastly improved. the dialogue system is a bit more expressive with the textboxes being all over the place and stuff. i actually feel like reading the stuff they have to say whenever dialogue is shown. the overworld itself is also more dynamic, with the camera moving around the player when you walk across places. the camera is also even better in cutscenes, making them a lot more dynamic.

for the battle system, not much has changed. actually, selecting actions do feel a bit slower and the whole thing seems to be slower, but i guess thats just me. i haven't played x&y recently, but i do recall most of it.

in the end, this does seem like a game thats buying-worthy. of course, they didnt improve on certain things like 2d in the overworld and lag during battles, but i bet they had their reasons. this game isnt really a "lazy remake" considering that new models, music, and programming had to be done. sure, not a lot of things were fixed, but its not that big of an issue. overall, i know that ill get this game for christmas
