Miss's Doodles (and maybe some other art stuff)
#1
Hmm...

Well, as my tenth post, I decided to make a simple art showcase thread of mine. Most will be doodles, methinks. Simple sketches, if you will.

Some examples:

"Kawaii" Yoshi.

A mario mushroom (but with the wrong color scheme, should be white on red).

And some...bird...thing.

Well, something new. A sketch of my cat from memory. Has obvious cartoony features.

And a cartoon doodle of myself. The hand looks bad and the legs curve. Eh...

Ohmygod I hate cats Cute

When it's bad weather, like raining or snowing, our cat likes to go out, recognizes that it's bad weather, wants to come back in - you let it in, of course - and five minutes later it's waiting for someone to let it out again. Just to come back a few minutes later because the weather is bad.
I don't think our cat really has such a bad memory. I can't believe that.
Whereas, sometimes after we feeded it, it comes back a few minutes later and pretends that it hadn't had food.

Your art isn't bad, although I don't like this scribbly style.
Anyways... are you using a graphic tablet or are you drawing with your mouse?

A Wacom Bamboo Tablet.

Eheh, yes, I can see how the scribbly style can be annoying and distracting. Just trying to sketch like I would on paper. Plus, Photoshop supports the pressure sensitivity the tablet has, which I like.

Sorry, scribbly style again, but this time it's my bunny.

Ooo I got one of those for Christmas. They're awesome.

But about the pictures, I like the cat and the rabbit. Especially the cat, though.

I cannot say this enough to people:

reference photos are your friends.

There's no point doing structuring if you're not using anything to inform your drawing in the first place.

There should be a bit more thought put into your structuring than just drawing a couple circles. Do they actually help you in any way? Did you particularly think about how they're positioned or how different parts interact with each other?

edit
Also seriously
when you're a beginner you don't particularly need high-end materials. Start small and work up.

Further more, bandwith exceeded.
Very Sad

Nothing more or less useless than imagining that there is more to be done. Recall: no matter what is new there will always be these hands and these sandwiches. The enlightenment came and went and sliced bread was our creation— the best to be had. There can be no avenues of intellectual discord. We will always fold our food and put it into our mouths, long after our bodies forget what to do with it.
