Started Magica Madoka with my friend, and just got done with the third episode. Really bizarre show so far, but we're liking it.

Spoiler:Sucks that the blonde girl got killed though...

Just finished Magica Madoka tonight. It was really depressing and shocking, but man was it an excellent series. I can definitely see why it's so popular.

It's a bit of a drag but still cool.

I don't know why, but doesn't that seem like the longest five minutes ever?

It does. Even if you consider the fact that everything must be slowed down (since the battle is probably much faster than shown), I doubt that would have all happened in 5 minutes. All of King Kai's comments during the battle probably add up to 10 minutes or more.

It was even worse when you had to wait until a whole week for the next episode.

Ironically enough, the next episode spans over more than 260 days Tongue

Thirty minutes when translated to Frieza logic.

I think I mentioned this before but what's the deal with all new animes drawing teeth like this...

Not a fan. Makes them all look like rodents with buckteeth. They never used to do this, now they all seem to want to.

Man, I hate how in western cartoons their eyes turn into hearts or dollar signs whenever they see a pretty girl or money, respectively. Or do that thing where their tongue pops out when they see boobs.

Or when the same stock sound effects occur regardless of the action, especially when that weird stock startled cat squeal happens every time someone throws something away. Worse yet is when whacky mayhem is condensed to just showing a house shaking with wacky sound effects.

Also, I really wish that things in western animation weren't so focused on this whole squashing and stretching things. Bones and anatomy don't work that way! Stop with those noodley arms and legs!

And gee, it's weird how Mickey Mouse's ears always turn to face the "camera", it doesn't make any sense!

...

Get over it. Visual tropes and quirks exist for a reason. It's because people learn from imitating other art that came before them, or work towards emulating a certain well-liked style. Artists, especially those involved in pop art (like cartoons and anime) draw in ways that are known to grab people's attention and get a good reaction. They're just different due to cultures being different, whoop-dee-doo. It's such a small complaint, it's not even worth mentioning.

Stop shitting on anime-styled stuff that you don't like just because you wanna romanticize the stuff you grew up watching. Don't post in the anime thread with "man does anime weird me out." It's an opinion, sure, but what good and healthy discussion could possibly come from that, dude?

This is a new trend in anime that just started happening. They never used to do this and I'm pointing it out. You're acting like it's been going on forever.

Jesus calm your ass down. It bugs me mostly because a lot of anime used to have their own styles. Now a lot of them seem to becoming more and more like each other than they used to. I know this because I actually do watch a good number of anime.

Pokemon once had characters that were distinctly Pokemon. Now they are starting to look like a bunch of other anime characters lately. This is something new that's only happened for the past two years.

But critique something I see in modern anime is forbidden? And were going to assume I hate all anime in general and "it wierds me out". Well I can make assumtions too. I assume you are a huge asshole!

Hey sorry I lost my temper. It really got me upset when you assumed I didn't like anime. But now I see it was an honest mistake. Just know, I do like anime, I just don't like this latest trend going on.
