Starting something new.

Zero in Paper Mario style.

However, it's a style I've never tried before, so by all means point out any flaws.

EDIT: Also, I'm using these as my primary reference.

Move his eyes to the right more. Smooth out some of his edges. It would help to some of the helmet's angles not 45 degree angles. Good job so far.

I got a bit more work done on this, along with what I think it might look like compiled together. If someone here knows this style well, please do give me some critique to work with.

I did this for a contest over at MFZ where you make your character a sonic-styled furry or into a human, but I forgot to upload it on time, so I lost anyway. 8D

I came back here just because.

Anyway.

I started a new project far more important than any of my other sprites, sans my Ekoi sheet and my Ekoimas project. I want to actually go somewhere with this one.

Now, I present to you, my greatest and latest creation, Megas XLR's Coop in JSS style.

Okay, it's a WIP, but it's something, right?

His face is too small, enlarge the head and distribute the facial features better. Also, his hair is misshapen and the hair color blends with the skin color.

The hair wasn't even finished being shaped when I posted it. Whoops. x:
And I figure that this'll get FAR more used than a Paper Zero. I'll finish it sometime later, but for now, C-O-O-P! Heart

I'm not too sure about my hair and skin palette selections now, as they look a bit too bright and light.(respectively) If anyone can build a better palette for these two parts from JSS sprites, I'll luff you forever. Granted, JSS sprites exaggerate a bit due to the limitations of the hardware, but I still think the colors are a bit off.

even though I know coop's hair is brighter, judging by the ref pic that brown haired person would fit great

but uh
maybe you could do some hue shifting from yellow to orange to help

The portrait I have there was only used as a reference for shape, if anything. I've an actual shot from the show that I'm using as reference. <Cute

they eyes are placed as if they should be toward us, but the rest of the face is looking to the right.

Move both eyes over a pixel

also, the nose looks too dark for the style

I know you're trying to base a light source from the reference pic you're using, but try to make the light source more like the light source as the other sprites you're using for the style reference.

The lines are okay, though :>
