Even a smartphone game can be exciting if you try. I'm not expecting a Sonic Colors for mobile or anything but all I'm trying to say is that I doubt that they'll be making something awesome anytime soon.

General Sonic is Terrible Thread

It looks a little nice. It looks like a freemium on-rails Sonic Advance, which might be okay. Might. Maybe.
SONIC IS SO TIRED!! SPEND 1000000 RINGS (OR 10 EMERALD SHARDS ($2) TO BUY A CHILI DOG AND MAKE HIM RUN AGAIN Thanked by: psychospacecow, Mystie, recme, Virt, Gwen, ~Axis~, Shade, Iceman404, Smoko Frodo, SchAlternate

True. I mean look at Pac-Man Monsters, that's a phone game I liked better than Ghostly Adventures for the Wii U.

look at kero blaster for iphone. not only is it cheaper than the pc version, i heard that it controls better than the pc one. :0
My point exactly. I bet that all the items in this game (if any) will cost shitloads of rings so they can make you buy them coin packages.
Milk the cash cow sega...

I think a better question would be, "When will SEGA ever learn?"
Why couldn't they just stick with what worked with Sonic Generations? Is it really that hard? Are they doing this on purpose or what? I wish I could interview the director or somethin. Thanked by: BullockDS, Smoko Frodo, E-Man, recme

I myself am not a fan of Unleashed's hallway running simulator, but I was happy for Sonic fans being happy at least. If they went back to that, I'd lose interest, but at least he wouldn't be in such shame.

When you set your mind to it, it isnt that hard. Thanked by: recme

Combining Unleashed's mindless levels of speed and it's general lack of 360 control cannot translate well to a more open ended game; it's either go with one or the other. An Adventure styled game is the best approach, it allows for more characters than Sonic, more thoughtful level design, and can generally lead to a much larger scale of creativity and freedom in general; it's just a lot more controlled. Adventure's problems were the linear levels that decided to not even take advantage of it's control style, endless glitches, automated sections and events, and poor physics.
The best ideal Sonic game would be Adventure controls in 3D with the physics of the classic trilogy, up to today's standards, with Sonic 3 & Knuckles-esque level design in 3D.

I mentioned somewhere talking about speed in a Sonic game that it'd be interesting to see a Sonic game where instead of going faster and faster, the world slows down around you as you "build up speed." It'd let you keep normal levels of reflexes since running at about a mile every five seconds requires either clairvoyance or merging with the Speed Force.
It probably wouldn't be a very fun game, though. Unless you can watch a replay of the level in "real-time."
I only used the above quote as an example of how simple it would be to plot a decent sonic game. I agree with Iceman's post. ALTHOUGH I find that you can have a Sonic game with intense speed AND have different playable characters while increasing exploration and platforming but thats just me. Making the boost ability an earned instead of a given like in Sonic Colors would help alot. Maybe that along with reducing sonic's normal speed and then spiking it while boosting kinda like in the Sonic Rush series where sonic runs relatively slower without boosting when compared to when you do. Sonic 06 would have gone somewhere if it weren't so damn flawed.

I don't see why it wouldn't be a fun game... Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 kept the speed at manageable velocities and are pretty much the best in the franchise.

SEGA is run by a pack of monkeys who don't know better game concepts than the average consumer. We can't even bet on that, sadly.
