Congrats, everyone! I hope we get to see more of these sheets!

Are we going to continue these contests? Will it be "winner decides the theme" for the next one?

The Eggcellent Event is currently running but any events after that are entirely up to you guys.
This Smash competition was made without staff input (I just jumped in and made/handed out the badges at the end but otherwise the rules and everything were all done by Xander) so if you guys want to start new stuff you're more than welcome to as long as you get permission beforehand.
Community events are up to the community

edit- If you want I can quickly throw together some guidelines for how to make future compos if you guys want but there's really not that much to it outside of actually DOING it

it's because

the method i used places the center of the rainbow...not behind the smash ball band.

also because it's based off of rather than the SSBB one

Those are much better actually but can I suggest some slight edits? I'd like the black ...cross thing... to be sorta the same color as the rest of the smash ball like in the rainbow version and not just straight black as well. For example you can see the silver one I did in Gorsal's post above yours where the black is still pretty clearly black but at the same time it's not just straight black and is still silver like the rest of the ball.
The rainbow one is great but the other three have almost too much contrast, I guess.

edit- uh also maybe knock down the bright white of the shiny parts a few brightness levels

I hate to tell you this but they aren't evenly-rounded spheres lol...

Aside from that they look SOOOO much better.

EDIT: Also what Viper said. They're all glassy so the black should be a bit diluted or something.

I regret to inform you that I may or may not have went with the exact same measurements as the Smash Bros logo


meaning this whole time, we've been aggressively fighting over the Smash Deflated-Beach-Ball in SSB4

But in actuality while working with them they're purposely like that so it's obvious that it's NOT an evenly-rounded sphere. It's evident on the emblem itself.



If you notice, the "core" is slightly depressed, whereas the rest of the design sticks out somewhat from the core.  It's hard to show that in such a small space, so...it ended up being a little not-perfectly round.
The other, honest reason is because if I did it that way the rear layer would have jutted out and you'd have a little bit of black "noise" around the emblem. I was considering putting a 2px stroke on them but they just ended up looking dopey.

Please excuse my lack of tact but I kept the black area of the emblem that way when I remade them because I kinda felt that was half the problem with yours. Keeping that shiny layer makes it look a bit tacky ;

I actually used the same smash ball base you did and it doesn't use the pure black either (which you obviously already know since you made one to match that).
Essentially what I was going for was "but what if the smash ball was just made out of gold?" meaning that it kept the same semi-transparent properties but still had the darker area...

I was shooting for them all looking more or less the same except one was yellow, one was silver, etc
I'm no graphic artist though so lol
