dont you guys hate it when you find out about something, and it completely changes the experience of the game.

i just found about arena abusing, and its proving to be quite useful with roys weak army. its like training your units to the max in awakening, except that you dont have to worry about skills.

im sorta glad and upset that this sort of thing is in the game, but what can be done. (skipping them, probably)

I moved the Pegasus Knight that I JUST recruited in chapter 17 to the end since Uhai had a sword equipped, so I  was gonna pick that time to kill him with the new Pegasus Knight after weakening him, but out of fucking nowhere, a FUCKING NOMAD appears and kills her! I think that the fog levels are the most annoying to deal with, especially that chapter, because you have no ounce of a clue with what you're dealing with until it sneaks up on you, and you lose a unit for it.

Good thing I had a save from a side quest, but that's all the way in chapter 13. ;~;

Fog of War maps should always be played defensively, don't ever make a unit go ahead of the rest, especially not a Pegasus Knight, whose whole thing is low defense and weakness to bows. Also use torches, torch staves and thieves to see further ahead.
Wait, your last save was from 13x? It gives you the save screen at the end of every chapter, saving takes like a second, there's no reason not to do it.

Wait until you find out about the mine glitch,  it's even more abusable than arena abuse, and doesn't require save states.
Even, with arena abuse Roy is still a really bad unit, out of all units he's always the only one who doesn't cap any stat at level 20 (which most units in FE6 do around level 13).

After that, I've made sure to be more care on fog or war levels. It was something new that I've never experience. I'm being more careful now. Thanks for the advice.

I remember my first Fog of War... I thought it was a fun gimmick that really changed up the way you play the game without actually changing the gameplay...

Then I got to my second FOW... and my third...

it didn't take long for the "fun gimmick" to become hateable bastard maps.

The only FoW map I ever have some actual trouble with is Arcadia (ch 14 in FE6) mostly because Berserkers that fall from the sky.

All you need say is Fire Emblem 6.
Cavalry needed to do most missions without a loss, absolutely useless when the fog gets bad.

I've encountered the first uh.. "hard" map on fates (Hoshido) is 8. everything prior is pretty easy and encounters let you grind pretty freely (after 6) but there's a lack of seals to reclass/promote everyone

Haven't played the game, don't know most of the characters. Lets see how I did.

so in my adventures today:

prison starts with 2 slots, upgrades to (6 or 8? fanlation description says increases by 6 that makes me think 8 total.. but i don't have the upgrade so i can't confirm or deny, just going off what i read in other castles!)

bought characters and generics from other castles do not count towards this cap of captured units, meaning UNLIMITED GENERICS WORKS or an army of your favorite character (have seen screenshots with an entire screen of Takumi, for example)

bought characters can not support like normal characters, you can't marry everyone to the same person

i still have no fucking idea how buying skills works

you can not go to someone elses castle to bypass the shop quantity cap, if you buy something from your store and go to another castle's store they won't have what you just bought

HACKERS! HACKERS EXIST someone had a fucking Lord class tactician with modded abilities

10 outta 10

also,

i got the dlc functioning even though a shit ton of people told me it wouldn't work! nice, nice

i can now play the third path! i have no idea how the third path changes grinding opportunities (ie hoshido/nohr or if it's somewhere in between) or story (which isn't relevant to me because i can't read shit anyway), BUT HEY it pretty much gives me access to every character (i think? i was told?)

i also have 9 save slots! doubt i'll use all of these for ANYTHING AT ALL except for messing with eugenics but i'm glad they give you 3 more slots per route

the only downside is my NNID is probably gonna get banned but i made a throwaway for my emunand anyway so WHO CARES

the third path is pretty much similar to hoshido as far as what you can do/level, you get every unit (some late, but!), your castle is way better than anyone from hoshido/nohr because you can get shops/etc from both sides (meaning more things), you can grind (i think it gives a little less XP than Hoshido so it's mostly for supports)..

if i continue on the third path, however i need to figure out eugenics for twice the amount of characters! ahhhh

on that i bricked my 3ds by doing stuff half asleep so i can't play fates until i decide to go across my city and exchange it for another new old one!

bad news for those of you excited for online: hacking is kinda broken!

good news: anti-cheat exists! kind of...

here's the basics: you can reclass to any class in the game. if you class to anything enemy-only or otherwise not accessible in game, your castle gets flagged and nobody can visit your castle UNTIL you 'wipe data' from the starting menu of the game.

this means, you can do shit like:
Sakura is classed as Ike's class, a male is classed into Maid, Rinka is classed as a Darkblood (Kamui-only class), Aqua is classed into fluffy-tail (Nishiki/Kinu-only)... this is a screenshot of my castle from someone else, which means it's allowed online.

obviously some of these are not accessible in game, so why it works is beyond me, but doing anything silly like that (Fluffy-tail Kamui.. even though it works for others) gets you a nice restriction until you wipe data.

so you can do fun stuff like this: and others can buy your aqua, or her skills and use them for herself. HOWEVER you can't actually buy DLC skills (which 4 out of 5 of these are), so for a set like this to get this aqua you'd need to just buy the unit

no enemy classes (looking at any and all dragon classes) work online, so basically all this does is omit grinding for anyone who wants nice abilities/classes without grinding supports to use buddy/marriage seals

ANTICHEAT GOT BUFFED PANIC

good news for people who were excited for pvp: enemy only weapons don't work anymore! there's only.. seven, I think, they were 3 bows (Nohr and Hoshidan variants, with three 'tiers' on each side) that worked at 1-2 range and then an enemy only bow that worked at 1-4 range, used to work online and now they don't

and upon further research i found out the class cap is numeric which makes absolutely no sense at all and i hate it, because the amount of fun you can have is directly dependant on how and who you marry (more kids with Nine Tailed Fox, Managarm, or Dark/Whiteblood translates to less 'free' slots for not-kids to use)
