Suggestions
I'm thinking that would likely make sense but let's wait until after the site is moved to the new server, okay?

I would like to see a maintain aspect ratio check box for the Insert a image button when posting.

I can't modify the forum software itself which would be required to implement that.

It seems to me submissions are randomly picked to be processed, I would like staff to look over submissions based on age.

Basically I think the oldest submissions should be first. I recently had my rip of Shadow of the Colossus approved, and its great to see it up but I can't help
but feel bad for people that submitted things way before I ever submitted Shadow of the Colossus.

EDIT: Although there could be exceptions made to submissions with no icons.

This seems to be a recent error with how stuff are showing up in the queue for staff. Hopefully Petie can fix it soon.

Wait are you saying that they already do it based on age? If thats the case then this is great news.

This seems to actually only be affecting the game queue, not the submissions. Both pages are sorted by age though, apparently, there's something going on with the game sorting. I'm looking into that now but it really doesn't have any impact on what you're suggesting either way. Even when things are sorting properly, there's no requirement for the staff to go in order. Often, they'll address easier submissions first (e.g. ones that have icons) and then go back.

Can the original ripper get a say when someone revises their icons? or at least notified when someone changes the icon, twice now someone has incorrectly rendered (failing to mirror textures) an image as a revision to one of my rips. I also saw no viable reason for those revisions, as most of mine were perfectly fine for said models.

I've already sent a revision for these, however I feel whoever is doing this will just revise them AGAIN most likely incorrectly, It's discouraging and a waste of time to go back and revise when it was perfectly fine the first time.

Note the guitar texture on KK, and the line in the vehicle.

One of the biggest issues I see with your first suggestion is the situations where the original ripper isn't around anymore and someone has a valid reason to update the icon/sheet/download. It limits one of the main purposes of the system. I'd say just posting what you believe to be an unnecessary revision in the errors thread is the best way to get the problem taken care of.

A notification for revisions wouldn't be a bad idea. I've actually been meaning to suggest something like that myself.

The problem, as always with suggestions concerning taking some action based on the submitter on the site is that there is no direct link between submitters and user accounts so there is no way to automate those notifications. A reason is required when submitting a revision and I'm hoping that the ones that were replaced for you had a good one or else they should have been rejected. Did the models in question have both a normal icon and a large preview icon?

They had both a normal and large icon, both of which were perfect enough representations for the models.

I can understand if it was a better render, but from my perspective this just seems as a "I didn't like it, mine's better" sorta thing.

Also forgot there was no direct link between accounts, also the fact that you can use any submitter name.

I'll look into it and ask whoever accepted the revisions why they did so as I do agree that your original icons look better.

Do people actually still use chatboxes? I feel like I haven't seen one in normal use in years. Regardless though, we have a better solution - a Discord server for our network. You can join it with the link in this thread.

I'm not sure if you were trying to suggest a dark skin but we already have one. Check the style switcher at the bottom of the page.
