Xenoblade monados
#1
Using Black Ninja's Ninja Ripper 1.51, the Dolphin emulator, the GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP), 3D Ripper DX, Blender, a Xenoblade save file with the game completed, a tutorial on resizing UV maps, and angavrilov's import script, I was able to rip the Monado III from Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii. I added in a space for symbols with an export of it UV map as a bonus.

Oh jeez...that sounds like absolute hell...and I hate to seem like I'm devaluing your work...but Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii is actually fairly simple to rip...as the underlying format is the extremely common and easily converted BRRES format seen in many other wii games. All you need to do is extract the base archives and look through them one by one, as they're all just numerical in filename...if you need help just let me know.

I couldn't get the archive I was trying to open to open with what I was trying. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place or something. Ninja ripper ripped the models, but not the textures. 3D Ripper DX ripped the texture, but isn't great with models. Importing the rips into Blender revealed the UV maps extended beyond the boundaries, when they probably should have been symmetrical. Given that I had the option to rip from the equipment screen and blender's loading import selection window allows me to sort files by size, the biggest issue with this method would have been the UV maps/texture... before I found out you could scale the UV maps by size while in edit mode with it all selected by pressing S(insert value here). However, I'd be glad for what advice you could give.

Thanks, but it seems like the list of files references on mediafire has been removed. My guess is Nintendo or Monolith didn't like it. I tried to extract the obj.pkb file on the American discs, but my efforts didn't work. I'm thinking about trying to rip the Monados for now. I wonder if I was looking in the right for them when I tried that.

The Monado files are all in chr.pkb.

What you need to do is download Quickbms and use the script I've attached to this post, with it, to extract the pkb files.

These are the listed Monado ID's for their respective BRRES files

It seems I was trying to open the wrong archive. I guess that's why it didn't work. Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Uh. No. I removed it.

It wasn't even a complete brres reference anyway, it was just a listing of all the armour pieces. I'm going to reupload it once I finish tagging them though if you're stilll interested. Also great job ripping the Monado III. Thumbs Up

I took your advice, Carpaccio. The Quickbms script didn't work, though. I managed to find another (updated?) one from someone known as Falo, so that's not an issue.

Set 1:

.zip   Monado set 1.zip (Size: 881.39 KB / Downloads: 242)
Set 2:

.zip   Monado set 2.zip (Size: 615.96 KB / Downloads: 243)
Set 3:

.zip   Monado set 3.zip (Size: 663.14 KB / Downloads: 230)

Anyone using these will probably want to switch out the textures with the PNG counterparts that I edited with GIMP. By the way, I included the Junk sword in the first pack. No glass circles in any of these models, by the way.

I've been sifting through them, renaming as I go(I've only just gotten to the Nopon village, so I'm not very knowledgeable with the armor), but it seems to me like quite a few of the characters are missing(Dunban, Shulk to be specific.)

Oh wow... is there maybe a complete compiled liist of the chr.pkb brres files? Going through them one by one has become tiresome. I've gotten all of Sharla's models, just looking for her rifles
