Does anyone know what can open EA Sports DAT files?

I'm trying to crack open NASCAR Thunder 2003/2004 for PS2, since I know there's likely to be unused content in these games, but I'm not sure how to open the DAT files that everything seems to be stored in. Is there any tool out there that can do this, maybe repurposed from Madden's modding community or something of the sort?

I would always try 7-Zip, 1st. Since it can open some types on compressed archives.

Another way (But probably will not work) would be to open the document up with a editor such as wordpad, and look for the proper file extensions. Doubt anything will be found, though.

Also, searching up the game's Engine can help, too. As maybe some modders have a way to crack it open.
