Interestingly enough, Wilbur's head is a semi-flattened 3D model. Not completely flat like Giga Mermaid: http://i.imgur.com/pHBZwcc.png The rest of Wilbur is flat, though.
Had to check Tinkerslug after this, but no, he's totally flat too. Twitch and Vinegar (aside from character sprites) are full 3D models, of course. Very interesting mix in this game.

You mean the 3D models for the airship level leading up to Ammo Baron? Those are likely the same format; I can probably start uploading models, I've just been trying to figure out the bone format first, which is only really required for character models and the like.

I was referring to the exterior of the airship as well...though I can't recall if the full thing is seen at one time...

Dude, these look pretty good. I was looking for how to extract them and ended up finding several threads about it. Thanks for supporting the program for the rest of the stuff.
I'm having a few issues with some .anb files. For example, on "ui_frontend", many of the files just extracted a complete transparent pic (like "banner_world_name.png", it's completely empty).
I was going to extract the files to make a TCRF article about it (a Wiki that focuses on unused content), do you have any issue with it? Using the program that extracts the stuff to add over there? I don't think the unused files had any "pixelated" issues, as I've been reading on some of the pages.
This game has a few quite interesting unused stuff (maybe some of it will be added soon to the game, since they're going to update the game and such).
Well, good luck with things bud. I was going to extract the stuff primarily for the musics, but I think the .fsb tool doesn't support it yet.

I'll have to take a closer look at those ui_frontend files, then. Could be that they're actually blank, but maybe they're an edge case in the format that I haven't seen yet. Come to think of it, there were some blank frames/files that I saw that I just assumed were intentionally blank... I definitely should double-check that.
Feel free to use the program/sprites for whatever! I made it to share. If you want a description of the file format or how the files are set up or anything, let me know. I will say that direct-linking to the program probably isn't the best idea, since Dropbox is saying they're dropping public folder support soon and I'll likely have to change the links. I'll have to start setting up GitHub releases I guess. Mirroring the program is fine, but I may update it in the future.

Probably, the files on ui_frontend were just an example, there are some other files that just gives me a 1x1 red dot, but I don't know if those are just placeholders.
Alright, thanks a lot. I don't know, I just feel a bit bad using these programs (which I haven't even made them) without asking the authors for what will be used. Goes for unused content or to upload stuff here, sounds, textures or sprites.
Description of the file format? Honestly, I don't know how those programs work (or how to code it), so I'm probably newbie at this, but appreciated.
I was going to mess around the audio files to find out unused stuff, actually. Well, when it comes to audio it's pretty difficult. The FSB program states that there's no header on it, opening on Audacity gives a noisy audio, as expected.
Also, one last thing, (spoilers marked by white text, just select it to show it up), do you know if the Hero Mode (New Game Plus) have any new enemies or anything? I beat the main story 100% but haven't touched the other one yet. I saw, for instance, a completely drawn enemy called "enemy_big_spider", together with the actual used one. The drawing looks a bit off, and I haven't seen on the main mode, so I think it's unused for sure. The enemy is actually a redrawn version of one of the enemies on the DSiWare game.

As far as I know, the only difference in NG+ is starting with all the transformations.

Not at the moment. Nor am I all that motivated right now to make one (limited time in my schedule as it is, and extracting the 3D models is taking top priority), sorry. Anyone can feel free to make an .anb re-packer based off my code if they want; my current codebase has everything I know about the format.

Updated sheet for Shantae Half-Genie Hero Hardcore Mode (Changes live when approved):
The only changes to the game that I can see, sprite-wise at least, are the removal of ui_global/early_access_watermark.png and the addition of ui_frontend/portrait_characterselect_shantae_hard.png, which I added to the above sheet. A bit disappointing to be honest.

It would be nice to have missing sprites from 3DS: Shantae and the Pirate's Curse collection. For example movable cages and switches for them from Spittle Maze level.

I don't personally have a 3DS, so I don't have a way of ripping those. If someone else does, feel free to rip and/or upload the appropriate pak/anb files so someone else can.
