Your frontal view sketch looks fairly accurate to the original, only thing that really stands out to me is the length of her arms, you've drawn them much shorter than the original's.
That aside, good luck, I hope you get great at 3D Modelling, there's so much you can do with it and the end results of a good model are very satisfying.

I feel the same, the arms look a tad small.
I'd also suggest doing a side pose. As it's very hard to model from a 1-view reference.

Is it because the render is taken at an ortho perspective? (AKA: facing perfectly to the front/side)
How does it look in a non-perfect angle?

What editor is this? As I know programs like Blender have a "backface culling" option for Open GL renders.

With the Valentina model complete (+ some readjustments), now I can move on to some other model ideas. One of them being Dodo.
I... might as well plan to make a custom Tawna (Crash Bandicoot). I'll keep that one in mind as well. =w=
