Bumping this thread,
I know its relatively old but I also really want to get .Obj files off all of the environment models from the first game so I can develop a more accurate recreation of the environment in Maya, I do not have a computer to do this myself yet, and I am inexperienced with the more complex tasks involved so I would greatly appreciate any and all help!

Hi DeanJB97! For future reference, try not to necrobump threads, but you did provide good reasoning. In order to help you out, I'll need to know what version (console-wise) of the game you're trying to rip from.
Thanks in advance!

My deepest apologies Resistiv!
I jumped on the opportunity to ask the people of this forum if they can help, since there was already a thread made for this game I didn't want to create another one that is the exact same just in case it jumps over the rules a little bit! Again, deepest apologies!
Preferably the PS1 version of the game, I did download the PC version a long time ago to try and do this project a while back when I noticed the .DAT files and didn't know what to do next. So I wanted to try again but I realise that .DAT files are still a persistent nuisance in extracting old models from an old game!

Darn, that's a shame about the .DAT files, I must admit that when I tried to use converter tools on other games they usually worked but alarm bells were ringing once I tried Dino Crisis and the files were simply incompatible with the software. Still I appreciate the help! And it gives me a bigger idea of what I am working against!
Yeah once I get my new computer I'll give a deeper look into the issue myself and see what kind of script I can make that can help me with the project. Thanks very much!
