    Any idea why this happens?
EDIT: I realized that 3DS Max had applied 2 layers of each material. I have no clue why. And Real World Scaling was off.

Delete layer2 objects, they have corrupted UVs.

Same method applies for BFRES models extracted from Switch games !
Just be sure to use these scripts in addition : https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-29836.html , courtesy of Random Talking Bush and ItsEasyActually.

Hey guys, I don't think I have the right version of the game data to rip things this way. Does anyone know what tool I need in order to open .sbfres files? I know those are the models that I need as they say things like "armor" and "npc".

SBRES files are compressed BFRES files if I remember well. You should find more accurate and helpful informations by searching on Internet.

Would you need 3DS Max if you only want to Rip textures?

No you don't need it as extracting textures don't involve using the Max script.

Yeah, there's a blender importer available at this time now. You can find it easily on this forum.

The gtxConverter used there may be outdated.

You must have :
-Windows 32/64 bit
-Pack : Pack (MEGA)
-3ds Max 2009 to newer
-Good computer (more of 1.5GHZ 2 cores processor and more of 2Go RAM)

Steps :
1 - Decompress the pack and copy *.szs into the extracted folder with the programs
2 - Run SZSMULTIPLE, it extract the .szs (you can extract many SZS if you want, it batch the work)

3 - Run BFRESTEX, it extract the textures from the BFRES.

A folder with the BFRES name is created, copy the .gtx in it in the Convert folder.

4 - Run convertGTX, it convert the GTX files to DDS file.

5 - Start 3DS MAX, click on MAXScript and run BFRESScriptR4
Open BFRES file in the pack.
6 - You have your model with textures in 3ds MAX, you can do everything you want with it (export,modify...) !

This video show how to extract textures :

Don't forget to thank ! Wink

If you have any problem or errors in the tutorials tell me!
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i dont have over 60$ for 3DS Max is there an alt
