Pokémon Model Ripping Project

Doesn't Pokemon Sun and Moon just use the Looker model from Pokemon X and Y?

While Looker's model was the same in XY and ORAS, he received a new model in Sun and Moon, since the Gen 7 games have a different art style than the Gen 6 games. Therefore both Looker and Lysandre( whose model I'm aware was changed in USUM) needed to get a new/changed model to comply with the new art style.

Just a curiosity question here (because I have zero idea how the whole ripping process works):

Everyone has been quick to rip the models and textures for both Let's Go and Sword & Shield (which is awesome), but why has it been so difficult to rip animations? I mean, sure for Let's Go all you had to do was pull the anims from Sun & Moon since Let's Go used the same models (and the same can be done with a huge chunk of Sword & Shield's Pokemon too), but Pokemon like Meltan and Melmetal as well as the Gen VIII Pokemon in Sword & Shield are sort of out of luck on that front. Are the files just in a different spot than they'd usually be for other games? Obviously they'd be in a different format just like the models were so is there just not a tool yet to extract the animation files?

Again, this isn't any kind of criticism since I know a LOT of hard work has been put out to have the database of ripped files we currently have right now; Merely a curiosity question

I would like to request Partner Eevee, Gigantamax Machamp and Gigantamax Gengar, please. Thanks. Wink

I know RTB said that Partner Eevee would be submitted soon, and that was like months ago. Please, RTB, I'm begging you, submit Partner Eevee sooner rather than later.

I would submit them myself but the process to upload to this website is very strict and sometimes random (i got a model rejected because no .smd was present, but I did include an .fbx, why require an smd? it's outdated), if you want I can PM them to you Wink

That's very kind of you. I have Blender, and I think Blender can import FBX files.

Not having an SMD wouldn't cause a rejection, there's nothing in the rules that says a SMD is required. Also no, SMD is not out-of-date, it's actually very useful for objects that are to be held like swords or facial rigs as they auto-rig upon importing.

Because while a single model is stored in a file, multiple animations on the other hand are stored in a single file, that and people usually only care about the models, for whatever reason

You wouldn't happen to have these files would you? Or if you know someone who does? If the 3DS Max plugin would work for extracting those as well, I'd be more than happy to use my time to extract animations

I'm sorry for sounding like a broken record, but RTB, why has Partner Eevee still not yet been submitted?

Just in case anyone want to check out a project I've been working on
(This image is strictly just SwSh stuff though. I've got a good chunk of other functional Pokemon currently on the project as well. Also just now realized I missed a cap in this snapshot)
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/5...ntent1.png

It's for a mod for Ark: Survival Evolved called PokeArk. I've literally gotten every model, animation, texture, etc (minus the animations from Sword & Shield... which is what I'm really hoping will pop up sooner or later) from the good people HERE putting out all the hard work so we can this large of a database to work with

No plugins can open pokemon animations from the switch games, but switch toolbox's dev is working on it, switch files are completely different from 3ds ones

For importing models from the Let's Go games and SwSh?

I want to submit Partner Eevee myself, since RTB never did like he said he would.

Gee, I wonder if it's anything to do with the fact Partner Eevee is already pending? You need to pay better attention to the details before accusing people of something, dude.

Partner eevee is waiting for approval, nothing that can be done, if you want to extract the file yourself it's as easy as opening Switch Toolbox and importing the files there, they can get extracted as .dae, everything opens .dae

I would submit those models myself, but not only is the approval process tedious, and takes a long time, they require file formats that aren't specified anywhere, I got models rejected due to ".png files missing, your files only use .tga", got that message like a month after I uploaded the files, anything can open .tga, after I included the .png files they got yet again denied because .smd was missing.. which is ridiculous, .smd isn't officially supported by maya, 3dsmax or blender, they all require plugins to open, also .smd doesn't support scaling (animations like jigglypuff's enlarging would not be exported correctly), then again, I can export these to a mega folder and share here, idk if it's against the rules or not

EDIT: Nessa, Sonia and Bea are already uploaded here:
