Ripping Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams models

You can find the game on stores but it's rare. The easier way is to find it on the internet. The game is around 30$ or half of the price.

That must be painful, especially when you really need help.

Update to the GSTD rips :
I recently discovered that xci/nsp files from Switch games can be uploaded online and luckly, Owltimate Edition's xci file can be found (you can Google it if you want to find it, it's easy). So i had to find the prod.keys file online too (still can't hack a Switch myself) and use the required tools to extract the xci file.

Remember when i said the Wii U and Switch version could be easier to rip than the PC version? Well...

...I was wrong, it is slingly worse though. Ouch!

The files are organised like in the original version, except Game.pak is splited in many pak files. Some of them are compressed differently so i can't use the helldorado QuickBMS script to decompress them.
Here's a sample file using the different compression, which you can analyse it : http://www.mediafire.com/file/ljvydxwch1...s.zip/file
Helps would be very appreciated! Smile

EDIT : This was sloved.

Also, for those who want the models, here it is : http://www.mediafire.com/file/h6id5dvc3r...J.zip/file
The zip includes the models of the girls, enemies and bosses. As well has their textures in their original format.
I'll upload their models on Models Resource only if i manage to extract their skeleton data from the game.

Someone finally helped me for extracting pak files of the Switch version of the game.
https://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f...58#p168758
I managed to get the textures of the game (which were xtx files) and also the audio files. Thanks to Pingus for helping me how to open opus files.
https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-38227.html
I also extracted a level pak on the Switch version and i didn't find any rendermesh files, so Rise of the Owlverlord is not the only one.
BUT!!!
I found 4 rendermesh files in another pak file, and they are very big so i'm guessing these must contains all the models of the game. Using the convertor don't give much anything, all i got was a weird looking model and a giant vine. The extentions are different, instead of being win32 files, they are nx files so that's probably why we get nothing interesting by using the convertor.
Here are the files : http://www.mediafire.com/file/tk1ec4sw6m...s.zip/file

Ok, i know it's been a long time ago, but there's a bit more progress.
Bigchillghost updated his convertor which can now extract the models from the rendermesh.nx files, a big thanks to him. Wink Rendermesh.nx files uses 64-bit integers for certain offset fields while the other one from the PC version uses 32-bit integers, which explain why i got nothing interesting whil using the old convertor. Shakotay2 and DKDave also helped me for these, a big thanks to them as well. Smile
Here's a picture of several models i extracted from the files with textures applied :
Unfortunately, we didn't go further. Sad
I found where the rest of the materials (skeleton data, morphing data, file paths, etc...), which are located in the level files.
There is block3000000000001.block.nx, probably used to morph models, and it mention other things.
vt_index.bin.nx mentions a lot of textures name.
And rendershape.bin.nx mentions also textures name as well as models name. I also noticed it's contained bone names, which suggest it may contain skeleton datas.
Also levela-3 contains a lot of xml files, which mention a lot of things, but i don't know what they are meant to be used for. I'm not even sure if it's connected to the other levels as well or just only the level where they are.
I sended the files to the guys, but then they stopped answering, except Shakotay2 which explained a bit about a xml file. He have a bit analised a block.nx file, which it contains models identical to the rendermesh files, but with detached polygons and no UV maps.
Sorry for the bump, but i'm really out of ideas now. I tried insisting a bit, but still no answers. Maybe we could discuss about this here and try to achieve the goal. Unsure

I think i found a tool that could rip the models perfectly (the files are still not supported yet), which is i3DConverter. This tool allows you to view over 816 model files and even covert them in other format.  I managed to view the .vmesh and .model files (which these are only used for debugging purpose) in the standard version of the game. Unfortunately, this tool is shareware, which mean it's not free. Once you get the tool, you'll have 30-day trial period of using it also if you convert a model, every 5th face will be removed. To avoid these, you'll have to register aaaand you have to pay... at least 50 USD.

Anyway, i forgot to mention the original format of the models are .vmesh and .model files. Opening rendershape.bin.nx in a hex/text editor will reveal these. Maybe it would possible by reverse engineering or memory dumping, but that would too good to be totaly possible (and someone to do it).

I forgot to tell that Giana Sisters : Twisted Dreams is now on Models Resource : https://www.models-resource.com/pc_compu...teddreams/
Helps for ripping the game's models is still appreciated and welcomed, because i don't have the experience to rip the models perfectly myself and i can only get the meshes and nothing else. I know some will say "just wait", but sometime waiting leads to nothing.
Anyway, some models are pending and there will be more to come.
