(He doesn't have legs here because this animation is meant to be played on top of other animations, examples will be shown on the final sheet).
 
Also, here's a sprite of Mario & Luigi's Van from the Super Mario Bros Movie. I'm hoping to get this done next.

What was the process of making these Mario sprites?

I started making these sprites back in June 2020.

I started with this 8-bit Mario. (Not sure if I would recommend doing this, I haven't started making a sprite this way since then).

Then I gave it some shading and made the rest of the sprite. (I always make a copy of the body so I can use it in other animations).

After that I did a similar process to make Luigi.

Several months later I decided to improve these sprites.

As for animations, I don't really have much to say, but I usually don't start shading them until after I've finshed all the frames.

I can't think of anymore animations for the van, so I guess it's now finished.

I don't know why but luigi walk reminds me of Mr. pence, looks good though!

I love Luigi's skid. It definitely reminds me of how slippery he is in the Mario platformers.

It's been a few months, but I'm finally back.
If you're wondering why I haven't posted that much recently, it's because I was working on my fan game, Essence Of Waluigi.

Anyway, if you've seen my twitter account recently, you'll probably know that I have started to make Sonic sprites again. Here's some of them:
