I really would like to know what is happening, if it is some permission that is missing or something, since I'm new to this kind of stuff, I am sticking with assembling the sprites manually one by one so I really want to make this process faster. About the file missing stuff, I dunno what it is but the actual file is still there in the correct place I guess...

Hi! It seems like the script couldn't find the folder "./LogFiles/WMI/RtBackup". And you put "psxtools" to "C:\Windows\System32". Hmmm... I'll have to ask - what is your folder structure when running the steps?

For reference, this is folder structure on Step 3 should looks like:

[attachment=12697]

The whole setup is very similar to a portable app. It is meant to be carry around on my USB stick to begin with.

When on that folder, open the cmd.exe and continue step 3 from there.

Hope it helps!

It works now, thanks, I noticed GV2 have some slight errors in pixels when the final result from the image comes, like extra pixels. Is it hard to fix that?

even so, thank you for sharing the stuff to help the ripping. Smile

Is it like texture bleeding problem as reported by @HellZero before? Does it happened on quad_render.php from Step 5, or from Quad Player, or both?

@HellZero also reported, on GV2 def_arc - 1838 and above, the PNG from quad_render.php (but not on Quad Player) has duplicate row of pixels. Seems like it has some rounding errors when mapping pixels. Are you having this same problem?

FYI, Quad Player uses WebGL, so it is hardware rendered. I wrote the math formula for quad_render.php, so it is software rendered. The result PNG may look the same, but both are actually two different thing behind the scene.

I would need more information to pin down the error and then looks for a solution.

Thanks,

Hey rippers,
So a few months ago I found the fonts for ASG.
Both HD and original size for dialogue, and the results screen font
Should I upload these to one of the pages?

Which versions did you rip these fonts from? Maybe add a pink BG to make them more visble?

Anyway, I managed to rip all 258 of Stella's sprites from the Steam version of LAiX with the tools provided by @rufaswan, but am still missing her civilian sprites, her portraits, as well as some of her effects.

Anyone else want to help?

These are ripped from both the Steam version and 3DS!
Yes, I can definitely add pink for you! They looked almost invisible anyways, should've done that sooner.
 Here you go!

BTW, nice rip of Stella's sprites! Mind if can assemble these into a sheet?
P.S so I checked the sprites, what's up with some of her sprites proportions looking a bit out of place? Her body parts don't align right in some sprites.

I don't know why her proportions are wrong in some frames; maybe there's a file I was missing. And sure, go ahead and assemble her as a sheet.

Man, the rounding errors is pretty bad. The whole part is 1 pixel off, that is just wrong. Sad

Interestingly, RTB also assemble sprites with a script. I wonder if he's also having the same problem?

It's okay, I think I can fix most of them. Already did a few of her sprites. Well, apart from the really bad ones anyway.

Stella sprites:
gva_def_arc/0062-0063.17
gva_def_arc/0080-0083.17
gva_demo_arc/3615-3617.17
gva_demo_arc/3627.17
gva_demo_arc/3641.17

That's what I found. You might want to look around to see what is missing.

Also @miru, when using quad player, can you try un-maximize and resize the window smaller to see if it fixes the proportion/alignment problem? I am guessing the rounding error is caused by converting pixel coordinates to OpenGL coordinates, where everything is divided by canvas width and height.

Hope it works.

Ok, I've finally managed to assemble every one of Stella's sprites (that miru ripped rom this thread) and put them in one big sprite sheet! This took longer than it should, but it's fine. There may be some proportion and rounding errors I may have missed, but I think this is pretty ok! (Also did some repairing to the sprites that needed it)
Here it is!

I've also assembled the Discs! Don't worry about any incorrect pixels or rounding, I took care of that already. (It was surprisingly much easier than Stella herself, thank god!)

Due to it's massive size (not the filesize, don't worry) I've put up a Google Drive folder with all the assembled sprites separate so you spare yourself some tedium of looking through the sheet, here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1...sp=sharing

Any stuff you guys notice, let me know.

Hello, I'm brand new to actually trying to rip things myself, I'm trying to get rips of the stages themselves, as opposed to any single character- and I'm just wondering if that's possible with GV1. I can't really find anything, I tried ripping the 3DS version, but I can't really figure that out and the psxtools method is a bit cryptic for me.

I just got a few gv_xxxx files and it's pretty obvious that I don't know what I'm doing.  Ouch!

Let's start from here, on Step 3

[attachment=13223]

NOTE : edit php.ini , line "memory_limit = " change 128 MB to something higher, like 2048 MB

To open CMD, go to that directory and then type "cmd" on the location bar, and then run

Code:
php.exe  psxtools/pc_gunvolt_irlst-irarc.php  resarc_00_cmn.irlst

php.exe  psxtools/tsr_cmdloop.php  17  "php.exe  psxtools/quad_pc_gunvolt_IOBJ.php -gv"
php.exe  psxtools/tsr_cmdloop.php  7  "php.exe  psxtools/quad_pc_gunvolt_IOBJ.php -gv"

php.exe  psxtools/tsr_cmdloop.php  clut  "php.exe  psxtools/img_clut2png.php"
php.exe  psxtools/tsr_cmdloop.php  rgba  "php.exe  psxtools/img_clut2png.php"

NOTE : change "resarc_00_cmn.irlst" to the IRLST filename you're ripping.
NOTE : change "-gv1" to the game you're ripping.

Then you can open the QUAD and PNG files with Quad Player, like from Isola post (https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-38568...#pid667881) above. The latest Quad Player is available on my GitHub repo, under "docs" folder.

Hope that helps!

P.S. Vanillaware Ripping Project also have similar steps (https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-38430...#pid669576), you can use it as a reference.

Hi, I keep getting this error whenever I try to use the command to get the QUAD files:

Code:
Warning: Array to string conversion in psxtools\tsr_cmdloop.php on line 61

COMMAND encounter an error and cannot continue

I might be VERY stupid, but I followed every single step but I still can't get the files. Any help is appreciated.
