.tga image looks incorrect in most image editors - possible alpha channel issue
#1
I am trying to convert a .tga image to .png. When I open it in GIMP, this is what I get:
The image has a transparent layer over it that darkens it.

If I remove the alpha channel, I get this:

The image is now severely washed out.

However, if I open it in LibreOffice Draw, it looks correct:

What is going on here?

I have uploaded the .tga here: https://mega.nz/file/E2p2lYZC#g7gk6YFpV9...JJw4m3rrKA

I don't have Photoshop. Do you know what's going on?

I'm not very familiar with GIMP, but probably you got some setting that's causing that. See if you can remove the layer transparency.

I did that, as I said. It happens with paint.net as well.

Maybe you can try using Texture Remix. I was able to fix the image in question by removing the alpha layer and it doesn't look translucent when I open it in MS Paint and GIMP. If you don't know how to use it, feel free to ask.
If you can't handle the heat.
You can't handle the Neutron Style.
