how ripping ".lza" files
#1
Hello, I wanted to ask with what program I can extract the resources from the game "dolphin wave" that come in .lza format, this is the first time I have seen that format and I can't find a way to open it

The tool is a modified QuikBMS.

Hi there, looks like all modern marvelous/bullets engine games made by same publisher are using this same formats nowadays

.LZS zip files with .bum (BUMV2) format models inside them, and .dds textures saved as bc7 linear with mipmaps

I'm from Story of Seasons:A Wonderful Life community, and our game uses same formats as here looks like

We have a tool to unpack .lzs files and repack them, I checked with your file and looks like it did unpack the .bum models and some files called .bc7, i assume those are meant to be texture .dds files saved as bc7 linear with mipmaps, same texture our game uses
we have a rough noesis script that can get some of the bones/skeleton/mesh out of bumv2 models, but its unfinished and can't rip everything yet, weight paints are still broken etc, if anyone out there is interested in helping crack the format and create better ripping tools, can join our sos/rf modding discord here:
https://discord.gg/sos-rf-modding-894573835490295898

were hoping to one day have a blender plugin that can rip the format in or out and make mods for story of seasons games, looks like this effort may be useful to folks in the honey parade and senran kagura series as well!

we have it on nexus, for dolphin wave enjoyers just ignore everything else, open the tool and under the utilities tab just select "Extract .lzs file to folder" that will unpack your .lzs file just fine

unfortunately it's just lzs tho, it didn't work for your lza files, as we don't use those ones, but it got your .bum model and .bc7 textures out (just rename .bc7 to .dds, and paint.net can open them, if you change anything, just make sure to save the dds format as bc7 linear again i assume, and after rename the extension back)
