TFO04's sprite ripping thread thingy
#1
Hello everyone, it's TFO04 here. If anyone remembers in a seperate thread I made back in 2023, I did a re-rip of Cream from Sonic Advance 2 since the original sheet was outdated and missing several sprites (i also re-ripped Cheese and Vanilla for the sake of it!)

This time, I decided to make my own thread for various sprite rips I've made, since I've seen others doing it and I don't want to make multiple threads on each game I've ripped stuff from. I've been away from TVGR for a while, as I've been rather busy with other important matters. If anyone's wondering if I've started on my re-rip of Amy as stated in the thread, the answer is yes. Well, from Advance 1 that is, since I want to see if any of her sprites differ in the second and third games when I begin ripping her sprites from those. I haven't made much progress since I stopped doing it but, here's some of the sprites and animations I have currently organised and named for the upcoming sheet:

Like Cream's sheet, this uses the BizHawk colour scheme. All sprites seen were ripped through either mGBA or YY-CHR. There are plenty of other sprites I've ripped for Amy, but I didn't feel like showing all of them and I haven't got around to fully organising them yet. But I will be sure to keep posting progress of the sheet as time goes on.

Anyway, with that out of the way... around last year or so I re-ripped the sprites for the badniks from the 8-bit versions of Sonic 1 that I plan on replacing the current sheets with, because when I was re-ripping the sprites, I noticed some differences with the ones for Crabmeat and Moto Bug that I don't think anyone has pointed out.
Left: Master System. Right: Game Gear

Crabmeat has a slightly different set of sprites in Jungle Zone when compared to Green Hill Zone. In the Game Gear version, these sprites are, oddly enough, swapped around, and the Moto Bug sprites are touched-up a bit. Below is a comparison in case you are confused:

Not to mention that the sheet on the Game Gear version's page is the same as the Master System's, which is why I am planning on updating both sheets. The badnik sprites here were ripped through BizHawk.

Also, as a heads up: The sheets featured here may not be final, which is why I decided to make this thread in the event I'm told or find out that I've missed something on them. That way I can go ahead, add/change any of the missing/incorrect sprites and finalise the sheet before I submit them to TSR. I tend to rush my sheets sometimes so I wanna avoid any decrepancies just in case.

That's pretty much about all i've got. Feel free to let me know if there is anything I have missed, but other than that, all I can say is happy new year, and I'll see you all around!

Hi everyone, I'm back with some more rips. i'm surprised nobody has replied to me yet, but it doesn't really matter honestly - I'm aware a lot of people have seen the thread since it was first posted to the site. I have not made any progress on the Amy sheet since I made the first post, but I will continue it at some point, so keep an eye out. I'll also post my sheets to my DeviantArt as well, especially in case some of them don't get accepted on TSR.

Anyway I finished two rips recently, from Pocket Monster II on the Mega Drive (Genesis.) I've noticed that nobody has ripped the enemies or Koffing (the only boss in the game) for a long time so I thought I'd go ahead and do it myself:
Enemy Pokémon

Koffing

Above sheets use BizHawk's Mega Drive colour scheme.

I went back to ripping sprites from another game I've done several years ago: the Pokémon Stadium bootleg on the Super NES. I have ripped all of the remaining Pokémon from the game that aren't on the site as of making this sheet, I just gotta assemble their sprites and sheets together, but the first ones I've done are Jolteon (Thund) and Mewtwo (Mu), the latter being exclusive to the SNES version just like Jigglypuff and Vileplume (Pulin and Raif respectively)
Thund

Mu

As a bonus, I've also went ahead and revamped the sheets for Pulin and Raif too:
Pulin

Raif

Above four sheets use BizHawk's SNES colour scheme. The previous versions of them used bsnes' scheme but I decided to change them for the revamped sheets. If you find any colour decrepancies please let me know ASAP. I checked between the Mega Drive and SNES versions of Pokémon Stadium to see if there were any differences in the sprites aside from different palettes and I've noticed quite a few that I might go into detail at some point, like I did with the Sonic 1 8-bit badniks.

And what about the sheet for Beedrill (Spia)? I haven't got around to that one yet, but I will eventually. I'm kinda burned out with what I've got done currently, but I will be around again for more future rips of mine. Bye bye for now - TFO04
