You guys remember Kokisami, made by Saijee?

And Vipershark, I asked you NOT to rip my comment's out of our conversations, when I talk to you, I don't expect you do to something like that, if I had known you were going to broadcast my words, I would have stated it differently.

I could say that anything Vipershark has tolled me that you guys have said is invalid.

Complaint's such as "level design" "animation" "music" "cut scenes"

The level design is false, Stuff that I made up on the day I made the trailer, as well as the music. Most of the animation's where made when I first started getting the hang of animation, which is why Koki's Dance was the most well made, as it was the last animation that I had made. The cut scenes again where made up on the day I made the trailer.

If that's the case then you actually need to make a trailer that seems more original, because then your giving us the idea that your ripping off other games, and that isn't the best idea to do.

Honestly, this trailer was made to be shown off at a talent show for an important person in my church movement. But the person who manages which talent's are the best asked that I email him a youtube video, so I just uploaded it to youtube.

I really really REALLY really did not want to have to make an account on this, so don't give me a bad impression.

Diog, that's not how it is at all, it wasn't until January that I started to talk to the people in GMC about Kokisami, and that was all mainly about sharpening the character designs. But a moderator who saw the trailer suggested I start a general discussion topic about the game to maximize the potential of the game.

so mainly from the last few paragraphs, your showing off every thing you made from what you made, I wasn't exactly sure myself weather or not it was fake, but it seemed a lot like a game play video (Probably my fault if I didn't see a note saying it was fake, but I might have not seen it.) so that's why I stated that. This adds the bold comment above to add on.

Everything that you see in the trailer was stuff I made without talking to GMC.

As for the last comment, Viper did quote the conversation you had and stated that "The people at GMC suggested a beat-em-up platformer with RPG elements" I can understand where the 3d models and textures were made by you, but far as I see it you still used that idea from GMC for the fake game play trailer.

Not trying to be a major ass here, I'm just stating my side how I see it.

Shitty excuse time!

You can't whine at us lacking in the mind-reading skill to know that this is not indicative of your current skill level. I'm not particularly inclined to believe that you're not just shitting us to save face, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt now. If this isn't really indicative of your work, why are you broadcasting it anywhere other than the talent show?

If you can do better than this, prove it, thx. You can't halfass something and then bitch at people for saying it's halfassed.

My points about poor character design are still valid even if you are utterly discarding everything else. Nice to see you completely ignore the stuff you can't attempt to explain away, though.

I post once and you think that I ignored you.

What happen was, I tolled my response to vipershark, and he said he would post it.

But he did not. What I said as a response, is that I intend to redo all animations.

Also your point's about character design I would still consider invalid.

Most of you guys on this community all think the same, talk trash, and just complain complain complain. I really feel no reason why I should need to explain myself to people like you. You'll just complain even more.

Why would I listen to a community of people who find things to complain about?

You guys no nothing about me, if you want proof that my game will be awesome, then just wait. This game has only been in development for 1 year, working solo, while keeping my grades up in school. The game will be successful though, in the end.

It wasn't my idea to bring the trailer to TSR, VS asked me if it was ok, I said fine, but I didn't expect to be "dragged" down here, if you want me to leave, I can, but be sure that VS doesn't let me know what you guys are complaining about.

Diog, you know nothing on the subject, All that was seen in the trailer was made up before I started talking about this project with GMC. In fact the trailer itself was made before I brought it up to discuss on GMC.

Why make a trailer when it has nothing to do with the finished product is my question. You ever see a movie trailer? Notice how almost* all the scenes they use in the trailer happen to be in the movie? So maybe you shouldn't have released a trailer for it if it was nowhere near done.

Also I pretty much agree with what Zeemort is saying. In all honesty she is better at giving out crits then most of us here. I suggest you at the very least try them out and see if they suit your fancy or not. After all it wouldn't hurt to try out new things. If they aren't your cup of tea then don't use them but if you end up liking them, then it would be worth it at that point.

*What I meant by almost is that nowadays just about all the trailers I see for a movie use all of the scenes in the trailer from the movie you will see. Very rarely do they add any of their deleted scenes anymore.

This had already be exclaimed, because I wanted to bring it to In Jin Nim's talent show.

I just decided not to take it down, because my friends and subscribers started watching it.

Also, who said that I'm not going to 'at least try' it out? I just said I don't feel any reason for explaining to a bunch of people who just complain.

Also, this is not a movie it is a game, I have seen a bunch of video game trailers, with lot's of stuff that I see none of in the real game.

It's called teaser trailers.

I mean, this obviously isn't the case here, just saying for future reference.

Would you like to tell me why my criticism of your character design is invalid? Or are you again just plugging your ears and going LA LA LA because omg it's on TSR and all of us are so meen :c?

I've researched a lot -- and I mean a lot --about character design. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a dork and bordering on the obsessive side when it comes to this. I don't even want to explain how much material I have on the subject. By no means am I saying that this makes me an expert but I've got at least a working knowledge of the dos and donts, and I'm not just pulling this out of my ass due to some grudge against you (since aside from remembering your © ME DO NOT STEAL av on Pixeltendold I haven't a fucking clue who you are).

I've looked up the topics relating to your game, at least 3 of them and the first involving how you had trouble developing your characters last year, then showing off your progress within your development in january, and then you posted your video, and then started the general discussion of it. So I don't see how you've started to talk about your game right after you came up with the video.

Diog, it's not really "trouble" as much as it is making sure that it works. Really the contributions people have made on gmc for those 3 character topics don't affect the game play, as most responses are just settle opinions on small detail's that would make the character's look more enjoyable. All the idea's for the design of the game in general I did without the advise of certain GMC members.

Zeemont, I'll tell you why your comment on character design is in valid for the trouble that you spent, your own time, typing why you think it's no good. I have a certain respect for people who are significantly more constructive then others.

Like in your examples you have stated basically that the character should be recognizable even without trademark clothing (I could add: such like Mario), or even distinguishable as a shadow. And you have stated that I am probably using too many colors.

And I can say that these are invalid for a reason, because the real version of the game will feature several outfits for both of the main characters. Which is decided at the start of a new game, and unchanged throughout. Likely, four outfits for each character.

Why? When a single outfit that's not generic/ugly would be far better? You're just making pointless busywork for yourself while ignoring the more important things.

Like this 3-gameplay-mechanic system. Pointless busywork, where you'll probably end up with 3 bland gameplay systems, instead of 1 decent one.

Go and play Mystical Ninja Goemon for the N64. Platformer with combat and RPG elements with the same kind of polygonal complexity as what you're doing. Don't bother emulating Smash Bros; it's mediocre as both a platformer and a fighter.

You've'n't a clue how I work. When did I say I was emulating Smash Bros? I only reference back to smash bros to see how they animated stuff.

It was more a pre-emptive rather than a reference to what you've already done (but all things considered, it might as well have been that too).

You really should stop being so defensive, considering that although the majority (all?) of the responses have been negative, they're all with the intent to make your stuff better. So swallow your pride and pay attention, eh?

Well please understand that we are not trying to just complain but we are trying to help make your game better. From the way your acting it seems as if your just closing your ears to us saying "My game is perfect I don't need to add to it, your all wrong meanies on the internet and the world is against me wah! I'm here to prove you all wrong!" When in reality we are throwing out some really good points to try and help you.

You don't need to come here and act all butthurt when we are not even trying to be mean in the first place. We are not trying to start gamemakingwank with you at all and you act as if we are. We are trying to help and point out your flaws so you can fix them.

Never claimed the game 'is' perfect. But I am saying that it won't be entirely like you see in the trailer.

What annoys me is not that your all pointing out bad things. What annoys me is that your all pointing out bad things as if you think I'm not aware of it. As if your trying to make it look like I'm making a game to be exactly as the trailer looks.

If you're aware then why not fix it?
