what are you talkin about? Well lets just have a vote to see which kirby is better
drshnaps? or the Kirby for the project if drshnaps is good, we should ask him to make a better version that's in THE style

I like the left one except it needs more contrast.

I don't think Drshnaps's kirby was even made for the project.

For this project?

Someone directed my attention to this topic so please don't yell at me for being a late poster or anything.
Anyways, explainations; That Kirby was originally made for the Smash Project, but it was started very early on and the overall style of the project has undergone a lot of changes since then. I guess I can try my hand at making some in the most recent style. I was intending on making some Kirby Brawl sprites anyways, although it wasn't going to be this style. I was under the impression that someone else already had dibs on it.

I did a small edit earlier.
I dunno

I actually think the other one matches the style better. It's only major flaws are in the coloration (too red) and the shading on the feet is too shallow, and the eyes could use a bit of a tweak as well. Here's an edit that I whipped up real quick:
Aww, wook at his adowable widdle face.

Everything about it looks nicer but... I dont know. Something doesn't fit. I think it needs a bit of selout or something.
03-23-2009, 10:34 AM
Selout? I'm not familiar with that term, you'll have to tell me what you mean by that.
Here's another quick edit with a tweaked outline if it helps at all: And with that, I'm off to bed.

Actually, I was able to adapt an SSBB styled character for Kirby using the older sprite set. Certain moves, like the dash attack, had to be customed though.
I'm wondering if I should perform a sprite update when/if a new SSBB sheet for Kirby is completed (with due permission, of course).

@Drshnaps, the biggest problem with yours is the eyes. The AA on the eyes end up looking more like eyeshadow or something. It also makes the eyes appear larger than they should be. In fact, that's pretty much the only thing I had changed on that recent Kirby.
Also, selout = selective outlining.

I don't know about you guys but I think the kirby from Superstar Ultra would work for me it does at least.

Your opinion is invalid, for you know nothing about matching sprite styles.
