Do you get better at drawing by tracing? No. Do you get better at writing by plagiarizing? No. Just changing an original sprite to something a little different isn't going to make you a better spriter. It's going to make you look like an idiot. Make something original, post it here and receive crits from the few great spriters we have here.

I personally have never edited a sprite ever. I think I'm ok atm.

everyone has a pace of improving: some needs more time, some don't. By editing, people can see how spriting work.

But I'm talking about GOOD edits, not simple (and ugly) edits.
