I agree, it's lacking some depth there.
Also, Megaman's punch animation could be improved. For one thing, he's just extending the arm that punches - he should be leaning into the punch, like he does with his kick. You might also try to have two different punches for the combo - perhaps one with his left arm, and another with his right arm. It should help make it more fluid.
There is another punch for the 2nd one, I have not sprited the 2nd punch during the time I made the animation but the combo is already done.
