those, were all advanced art, and compiled into a different format... (sound familliar)
and yet you guys (well most of you) treat it like it's a sprite just fine...
i'm going to fix my art, but not for you guys...

Notice that Donkey Kong Country (although using pre-rendered sprites) was quite obviously retouched in post-production to get them looking correct as sprites and to keep the colour count down.
Vectored bitmaps can act as sprites, but they will VERY RARELY be as good, and as things stand, what you've done so far is definitly not up to par, considering the medium you're using is much easier.
Now everyone stop bitching before I start warning and/or locking.
