I believe they might refer to the same entity. It's a Slavic deity, his name means "black god". The only sources (which are Christian, by the way) interpret him as a dark and cursed god, but it is questionable how important he really was to ancient Slavs, but it was a very unknown god, most likely a too old or not so important one.
On Blood, you're Caleb, a rude and merciless gunfighter. Along his pregnant wife Ophelia you joined a cult for this Dark God, and they were 2 of the Chosen, the most important of the entire cult. And Caleb discovered the true meaning of being a Chosen when it was too late: sacrifice.
