No one said it was, but that doesn't magically make them better because they had a handicap. Old cars are less streamlined and less fuel efficient because the technology at the time couldn't make a better car at a cost effective price. It's not the manufacturer's fault, but it still renders the car inferior to the same model produced 10 years later (vintage enthusiasts notwithstanding. Which is probably the same case here).

Older technology is usually shittier then the newer ones so logically the older ones would not be that great in the present
