currently playing
quick sweep of the beginning:
-You can make running shoes toggle, meaning you can just select it on the bottom screen and you run automatically without holding B all the time.
-Interface and menus are very eyecatching and detailed, everything is set for you on the bottom screen so no more scrolling crap, everything is a touch away.
-Pokemon Center has stairs leading to link stuff right at the top, so everything is on the same map, and bottom stairs(which is blocked atm) obviously has wifi rooms, and wifi plaza remains.
-Depending on which gender you pick(im playing as the girl) the other character(in this case gold) has a marill, and they live on top of Elm's lab(the stairs you saw next to it lead to his house).
-The other character also does not get a starter, marill is their main pokemon. There's still a pokeball that remains in Elm's lab after Silver steals it(like in the original). So Kotone(female character) is not a real Starter trainer unless you play as her and vice versa for Gold in this game. I'm guessing her role in the manga or other media will be the same, so technically Crystal might remain as the 3rd Starter trainer(other media-wise).
-Music is done very well, Route 30 has a nice piano theme, a lot of early towns have a soothing tune, even New Bark.
And that's it so far, everything is going just like the original, i dont even need to read the text(obvs cant) to know what's going on since i played g/s/c thousands of times, even if it has been 6 years since i played it.
