All I simply want to know is
WHY

These "fusions" are a terrible idea and spawn the truly creepy internet users Sad

Why not instead take a graphical style from a Super Mario game and a graphical style from a Sonic game, and fuse the styles to create a single, consistent style that would work well with both Mario and Sonic sprites? That would be the smarter fusion, IMHO.
