I have a feeling if I was to throw my words into this about Nayru/Din/Farore I'd probably be shot and make the argument ten times worse, but whatever.
From what I saw on page 69, you people are saying that a 10th place franchise gets 1 character, yet a 7th place gets 4, and the 2nd place ALSO gets four, while the 3rd place (pokemon) gets SIX? If we're going by places, Zelda should have seven, but we're apparently not worrying about that, are we?
And yes the Oracles/Goddesses were important to the series, they've added in some mysterious pieces to the grand Zelda puzzle with their various artifacts and possible relationships to other characters. Ever since OoT and OoA/S, the Zelda series has had more cause for thoughts and speculation thanks to three characters: Nayru, Din, and Farore.
And I'm not going to seem selfish, I'll put in a good word for Lolo...though I don't know much about him sadly. He did make several appearances in the Kirby series, and he apparently had his own game. Now look at Pit. He appeared once. ONCE. And what could he do? Fly and shoot arrows. From what I've gathered, Lolo can do a bunch more than birdie boy.
And look at Brawl's roster! We've got a bunch of random people from over the ages thrown in there, and it started back in Melee with GW, then moved on to Pit and ROB. Seriously. ROB. HE WAS A BLASTED PROP FOR PETES SAKE. Sure he appeared once in MKDS but honestly that was just silly, Nintendo just did it to go back to their earlier days. Now I say if we bring in Lolo or the Goddesses/Oracles, then THAT will be going back to Nintendo's earlier days as well, but I'm sure that there are people out there besides me, SkyBlueWiggler, and Koopaul that would love to see Lolo Goroh and the oracles put in. After all, didn't we say that this is everybody's game? With such tight constraints on the character selection, it doesn't seem like it.
I mean, if DLCs are indeed possible and we do use them, then maybe that will ease the tension a bit. A character won't be in the first release, but they'll be playable in the future.
And now what are all these other suggestions for other oddballs? Advance Wars? More Punch Out? At least I've heard of Custom Robo, but c'mon, now I think we're just getting a little overboard here. Let's try and keep within the main franchises okay?
But honestly, if we're all going to gang up on people for their opinions, then fine, I'll just shut up here. I got my two bits. Flame me all you want, I really don't care.
