I got it
I thought it was his other arm, because in my first Megaman it was a bit distorted.
But, as I said, I was basing his pose on Megaman 8/Megaman & Bass AND Megaman 7. His shoulder is like that on his Megaman 7 pose, look:

in fact, the Mario sprite seems to be less defined light-source wise than megaman. I guess what gave you that impression was the shinyness of his armor. I did a small tone down on his left side (our right side)'s brightness. (check after the response on the below quote)

I thought the second Megaman had a smaller head, but I just noticed it's the same size. The new one has a bigger helmet, and the older one has a larger face. I tried the first head, but it makes him look big-headed IMO. Decide whether you want him with the first or the second head:
