Okay, you're using the travisty thing way too much, it's lame now.
But yeah, I don't really think it's right to go "oh well Geno was in a Mario game so he's first party" That's like saying that retarded king character from the Zelda CD-i games is a first party character (stupid example but it's valid and the only one I could think of) because he was in a Zelda game. Whether or not Geno starred in a Mario game, he's Square-Enix's character, making him third party.
That being said, I don't think it's fair to have Geno take up Square-Enix's character spot. Personally, I'm not really sure why he's in the roster to begin with. Is he really such a big star, in relation to Nintendo, or video games in general?
