How are those characters, with the exception of Geno and AC, pushing it in anyway?
Krystal has been in just as many games as Wolf and has played a primary role in all the titles she was in, even more so than Wolf. Plus she has the possibilty for a unique moveset and adds another female to the roster.
Dixie Kong, if you believe the file hacks, was planned to be in the game but was ultimately cut. Dixie Kong is the most important playable Kong to not be in Brawl. She has a strong fan base and is from a series that deserves more than Nintendo likes to give it.
Megaman is an important Third Party to Nintendo and always has been, not to mention he's probably the most well known Third Party to not be in the game, perhaps only behind the likes of Pac-Man. Megaman has so many moves he could have it's unreal. It's completely bizarre to me as to why Nintendo didn't include him to begin with.
Lyn was the first international lord of the Fire Emblem games and a strong leading lady at that. If Marth and Ike can get full movesets, so could she. She has a unique blade that isn't similar to either of those characters and could have a unique way of sword fighting the other sword fighting characters don't have. Sakurai acknowledge her with an assist trophy, which was cool to see but I think she deserved better. Though she'll probably never get a chance now, considering she missed it this time and the Fire Emblem franchise is always growing and changing.
Toon Zelda and Toon Ganondorf are just further versions of already existing characters, which everybody complained about when it came to Dr. Mario and Young Link in Melee. Toon Link is a fine representitive for the "Toon" series of Zelda games and anymore than that is pushing it by adding more of the same basic characters in the game, which we don't want. While more Zelda reps would be hard to come by, I think Tingle is the last one that makes sense, I still believe any more "Toons" is pushing it when it comes to the Smash series.
But then again, what do I know?
