I've never played TF2 on a console, so I wouldn't know.
tbh, the only GOOD console FPSes are ones that are designed for the console they're on. For example, Halo was designed to be played with an Xbox controller, and as such, it feels natural to be using one while playing it. But since L4D, TF2, and other FPSes were originally designed for the PC, they feel odd on a controller.
Not to again mention the fact that L4D on the Xbox can't handle nearly as many zombies onscreen as he PC version, making it feel incredibly empty and boring by comparison. I haven't played the PS3 version, but the outcome is likely the same.
