Hmm, well, if you guys are dead set on making it a cloaked figure, there isn't much I can do. However, I've been mulling over a few ideas.
One of which was, instead of making it a human at the start (like Veran and Onox) who later become beasts, I was thinking it could be some sort of none human monster, that is able to speak, think, and act human, kinda like the Moblin King and what not. Only Idea I had so far was this though:

That was from my original idea of a small smart guy who rides on a monster.
