My mom agrees that most of the cartoons now suck
she liked the stuff I watched when I was a kid like hey arnold and rugrats

Exactly this.
Almost all of the adults in my entire family appreciate the cartoons they watched me watch growing up.

These days they are garbage, it's not just perspective.
