Metroid could be an amazing, grandiose space opera of epic proportions.

and it isn't, and never was, and that was intentional

if you want a grandiose space opera of epic proportions than look at literally countless other titles - trying to change that which is actually different simply because you fail to appreciate it is downright ignorant

there is only one "Metroid", but that's not going to last for long - soon enough there shall be no metroid, because the powers that be have seen it fit to completely dismantle what made metroid unique and "special" and slowly replace it with nothing but disgusting absurdity after absurdity.

It's still a Metroid game.
