The designs are fairly good, rather the colour and lack of hue shifting seems to be what makes these unappealing to me. You could try shifting the main colour hues to various cool colour shades to give depth to the shadows. Changing the pose could help. Anyways, keep on pixel-pushing! You're doing good.
